System Operation : The system proposed is manual in operation.The ground floor is divided in 4 zones and each zone is operated thru a Manually operated quick opening Ball Valve at accessible height.Incase of fire in any area it is assumed that the Sprinkler system shall come into operation first at the pinpoint location.If the fire is not curtailed,then upon manual intervention that area can be segregated by activation of Water curtain manually pertaining to the specific area. D. Limitations of Automatic Operation : 1. Defining zone of Fire is very difficult. It may not be true that FIRE is generate exactly below the detector operated. 2. Water curtain comes into operation before the sprinkler and there is every possibility of Sprinkler. loosing its efficacy due to water shortage. 3. Defining Logic of 4 Zones operation thru Solenoid operation may cause confusion and accidental release. 4. It may so occur that water curtain may operate in the adjacent area of actual fire due to complex logic. 5. Effective System Design : The system is designed with the available limitations of Water Suppy,Tapping points and piping restrictions to suit the customers needs and prevent unwanted activation which may cause chaos and panic.
