The National Anti-litter Campaign begins

Bahrain is a beautiful place and it is a shame to see certain areas

where garbage has been carelessly deposited. Nevertheless, with
the strong support of the Anti-litter Campaign, initiated this year,
Bahrain will have the means of resolving the problem. Education
will be key in this case, along with a persistent and dedicated team
effort in eliminating litter. Please be a part of this campaign by
simply avoiding a lazy attitude and disposing of garbage where you
know it belongs. After all, this is our precious environment and our
responsibility, as individuals, to care for it.

I
n a serious move to encourage support from
all Bahrain residents for a clean and litter-
free Bahrain, the Kingdom’s Municipalities
have united to instigate a major awareness
campaign to be undertaken by Gulf City Cleaning
Company (GCC) and Sphinx Cleaning Company
(SCC) AMA International (GESENU Group),
working with local PR agency MICE Manage-
ment, Bahrain to encourage the support from all
Bahrain residents for a clean and litter-free Bah-
rain. ‘Love Bahrain Litter Free’ is the slogan cre-
ated for the campaign which has commenced this
past February.

A message to the public

Mr. Adrian Cockrem, General Manager of
GCCC, and Mr. Antonio Canale, International
Relations Director of AMA International the Italian
company brought in to partner Sphinx Cleaning
Company have jointly launched a campaign in a
bid to change public behavior about the disposal
of litter and rubbish.
A spokesman for the Municipalities said, “We
are all very happy to be the instigators of this vi-
tal campaign for a Litter Free Bahrain. By insist-
ing that the appointed contractors had a clause in
their contract to undertake a PR campaign aimed
at educating and promoting a litter-free environ-
ment, we have started a major awareness drive in
the Kingdom, which we believe will be beneficial
for all and we will all work hard to ensure that ev-
eryone gets the message.”
