Jan has been associated with The Maple Clinic for several years, first working as a specialist for Blue Care Network and since 2004, as a contractual outpatient therapist. Jan received her Masters degree in Social Work from Michigan State University in 1988. After doing outpatient work at two different mental health agencies, in 1993 she opened her own private practice in Benzie County. Jans clientele are adolescents and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorders and interpersonal relationships. Jan is skilled in the areas of domestic and sexual violence and womens issues. Jan also undertakes evaluations and sees clients for the Department of Human Services.
