Last Check
Before begin the commissioning make some last checks. Cabinet is well fixed and grounded DC voltage to cabinet is -48VDC (be careful of the polarity). In case of 2106 power cables are connected correctly on power board. Neutral and grounding are not connected on the same bar. All internal cables of the cabinet are connected and there is no obvious sign of damage.

Commissioning Procedure
Creating Database
Open OMT. Dont connect to RBS but create first the IDB. Select ConfigurationCreate IDB
3/16
Let transmission line G.703 and create type of cabinet by clicking on New. If you have created already a new IDB and want to erase it click on Clear All. It will erase all old data.
4/16
Select the type of the cabinet. 2206 Cabinet Type: 2206 Power System: -48VDC (Also +24VDC, 120-250VAC optional backup) Climate System: Fan+Filter 2106 Cabinet Type: 2106 Power System: 200-250 outdoor battery Air. Cond + heat exch. Click OK
Now it is time to create the cells for the cabinet. Here we will discuss the usual configuration with 3 cell of 900MHz without TMA. Create a new Antenna Sector by clicking on New
5/16
By clicking New a new window Antenna Systems for Sector 0 will be shown. Click on New to create the cells. Frequency: GSM 900 (other options GSM 800, GSM 1800, GSM 1900) CDU type: CDU G (other options CDU F) TMA: No (other options Yes) Tx combining: Uncombined (other options dTRU hybrid combiner, HCU, HCU_RX antenna sharing)

One more window will be shown. From here select the configuration of the RBS. In our case it is SCC (Site Cell Configuration) 3x2 and No of Ant 3x2.
8/16
Select ConfigurationDefineAlarm Inlets The dialog to define external alarms will be shown. You will define only external alarms. All the alarms are of type breaking. Also Id is different for every alarms. Follow the next table. It is the case where you have Ericsson 2206 with MPB and Sunlight. ERICSSON+MPB+SUNLIGHT

Next define the delays for the feeders ConfigurationDefineDelay Here you must define the delay for each feeder. Dont touch ESB (External Synchronization Bus)
To calculate the electrical delay you open the corresponding excel file (900MHz or 1800MHz). At OMT you must fill the sum of the electrical delay of feeder and jumper (column H) Repeat for all feeders.
Next select configurationDefineHardware Info Here you can set the hardware information of every unit. Select IDM 0 and fill the HW information of the cabinet.
10/16
Then define the loss of feeders. ConfigurationDefineLoss. At the new window that will appear we will fill only the losses for the feeders. From the Excel file you opened before add the attenuation of feeders and jumper (Column F)
Next you sill define PCM line. ConfigurationDefinePCM. Transmission Interface: G.703 (E1) Network Topology: Stand Alone (Other options is cascade, if another site is activated from the same line after this cabinet). Sync source: PCMA. Leave the next parameters as they are.
11/16
At the next step you will define the present RUs and remove those RUs that do not exist. Select ConfigurationDefinePresent RUs. Usually you must remove PSU-3 and some TRU that dont exist.
Select ConfigurationDefineTEI and set the TEI number of DXU. This TEI number is given from OMC. Cabinets on the same line must have different TEI values.
12/16
Save IDB. Connect to RBS and then select ConfigurationInstall IDB. Speak with OMC to unlock the site. Be careful that units are at remote mode.

Integration
Integration is very important procedure because we can test the performance of RBS. If done correctly it is possible to detect many errors during installation or commissioning. Check with a compass the direction of the antennae. Directions must be the same with those at Work Order. Make sure that feeders are connected to the correct antenna and start from the correct filter. Also cable connections between units inside cabinet must be correct. Make calls from every channel of every TRU. Speak with the center to lock some TRU if necessary. Check that the cells look at the correct direction. Make handover between the cells Make handover to a nearby site and write down the cell id.
