10.8 Pistol Test (Pistol)


All drills are performed at 7 yards, par time is 5 seconds. Target is an IDPA 8" circle. Score - inside the circle is 1 point outside the circle is 0. Over time is 0 points. 1. 4 body 1 head strong hand only holstered 2. Transfer gun to support hand 4 body 1 head (start from high ready) 3. Rack slide with strong hand only 4 head strong hand only. Start from high ready with an empty chamber. 4. Rack slide with support hand 4 body 1 head support hand only. Start from high ready empty chamber. 5. Combat reload strong hand only 1 body. Start with empty mag slide open, aimed in. 6. 7 body 1 head. Freestyle from the holster. 7. 7 body combat reload 1 body. Holstered, 7 rounds loaded. 8. 8 head. Holstered. 9. Failure drill, reload failure drill. Start from high ready, 3 rounds loaded. 10. 1 body, 1 head, combat reload, 1 body 1 head. Start holstered 2 rounds loaded. 11. 4 body combat reload 4 head. Start high ready, 4 rounds loaded. 12. 1 body, combat reload, 1 body combat reload, 1 body. Holstered 1 round loaded, 2 mags with 1 round. Finish. Rounds fired 65, points 65.

The Humbler (Pistol)


All at 25 yds. on an NRA B-8. F.A.S.T. (Fundamentals, Accuracy, & Speed Test)


Range: 7 yards Target: 35 card (head), 8 plate (body) Start position: weapon concealed or in duty condition with all holster retention devices active; shooter facing downrange in relaxed stance with arms down at sides Rounds fired: 6 Shooter loads gun with a total of two rounds. On start signal, shooter draws and fires two rounds at the head target; performs a slide-lock reload; and fires four rounds at the body target. Ranking: 10+ seconds: Novice less than 10 seconds: Intermediate less than 7 seconds: Advanced less than 5 seconds: Expert If shooter is using a retention holster and flap (covered) magazine pouches, subtract 0.5 seconds from the recorded time. If shooter is using an open-top retention holster (e.g., Blackhawk SERPA or Safariland ALS) with no concealment, add 0.50 seconds to the recorded time.

DEPARTMENT PISTOL QUALIFICATION


25 YARDS Start: Behind barricade two feet to your support side. Strong side barricade and fire 3 rds standing. Move to a kneel fire 3 rds support side barricade. Time : 25 seconds. 15 YARDS Starting position same as above. Strong side barricade and fire 3 rds standing. Move to a kneel fire 3 rds support side barricade. Time: 15 seconds. Save Reload. 10 YARDS 1. Step left, draw weapon and fire 4 rds center mass. Time: 7 sec 2. Step right, draw weapon and fire 4 rds center mass. Time: 7 sec 3. Starting with empty chamber and seated magazine. 4. Step left or right while drawing weapon. Press the trigger; clear malfunction, 2 rds COM and 2 rds to the head. Time: 10 sec 7 YARDS 1. Indoor ready. 4 rds COM, speed reload, 4 rds COM. Time: 12 sec 2. Handheld flashlight in support hand. Step left or right, activate your light, draw your weapon and fire 4 rds center mass. Time: 6 sec 5 YARDS 1. Step left, draw weapon 2 rds COM and 2 rds head. Time: 4 sec 2. Step right, draw weapon 2 rds COM and 2 rds head. Time: 4 sec 2 YARDS 1. One-step back, draw weapon 3 COM. Time: 3 sec 2. One-step back, draw weapon 2 rds COM + 1 rds head. Time: 4 sec. TCQ-95D target will be used for this qualification course. Scoring is as follows: 5 POINTS, 4 POINTS, 3 POINTS, 1 POINT LEGS/HIP AREA, ARMS, CHEEK/EAR AREA ROUNDS OFF SILHOUETTE OR IN HAIR/HAIRLINE ARE MINUS -5 POINTS PER SHOT. THERE MUST BE A TOTAL OF 7 HEADSHOTS at the conclusion of the qualification. TOTAL # OF ROUNDS 250PTS TOTAL 50 (43 CENTER MASS & 7 HEAD SHOTS)

DEPARTMENT RIFLE QUALIFICATION


100 YARDS Start at the low ready position. On the command of fire get into the position of your choice and fire 5 rounds center mass. Time: 20 seconds. 50 YARDS Start at the low ready position. On the command of fire get into the poison of your choice and fire 5 rounds center mass. Time: 15 seconds. 35 YARDS Start at the Low Ready position . On the command of fire, start firing in any position except prone and fire 3 rounds center mass. Immediately get into the prone position and fire 2 rounds to the head. Time: 20 seconds. 25 YARDS Start at the Low Ready position. On the command of fire, step left and fire 3 rounds center mass standing only. Immediately get into a kneeling or squatting position and fire 2 rounds to the head. Time: 15 seconds. 25 YARDS Start at the Low Ready position. On the command of fire, step right and fire 3 rounds center mass standing only. Immediately get into a kneeling or squatting position and fire 2 rounds to the head. Time: 15 seconds. 15 YARDS Start at the Low Ready position.. On the command of fire, step left and fire 3 rounds center mass. Take a kneeling or squatting position and 2 rounds to the head. Time: 10 seconds. 15 YARDS Start at the Low Ready position. On the command of fire, step right and fire 3 rounds center mass and 2 rounds to the head. Time: 7 seconds. 10 YARDS Start at the Low Ready position standing only. On the command of fire, step left or right and fire 5 rounds center mass. For Time - Go/No Go Primary Hand 10 Yards 2 rds while holding bucket of brass in weak hand. Time +.5 sec (4/3 hits) + 1 sec (1 hit) Weak Hand Weapon Recovery 10 Yards Recover weapon from ground, butt towards strong side, 2 rds COM. Modified Navy Qual (Rifle)

Trident Concepts / EAG Tactical Distance 50 Yards. Shooter starts with three magazines loaded with five rounds each. Target 8 inch circle COM. Par Time for Entire Drill 25 Sec Standing 5 Rds Perform a Speed Reload (Open Bolt) Kneeling 5 Rds Perform a Speed Reload (Open Bolt) Prone 5 Rds. Scoring Misses = 5 Points Every Sec over Par Time = 2 Points Every Sec Under Par Time = -1 Point 40 Points or less to Qualify Expert = 0-9 Points Sharpshooter = 10-25 Points Marksman = 26-40 Points

MEU(SOC) Pistol Qualification


Phase 1 - For this evolution, each shooter has a single target. All strings of fire begin with a Condition Four Carbine, in Indoor Ready position. On the start signal, each shooter will present the Carbine to one target and attempt to fire the Carbine. When the hammer drops on an empty chamber, the shooter will then transition to the pistol. If movement is called for, the shooter will begin to move as he transitions to the pistol. At this point, the targets are scored. There should be twelve shots to each of two bodies, and one shot to each brain (24 body shots, 2 brain shots). There are fifty-two points possible, with shots scored accordingly: In the desired area 2 points. Outside the desired area, 1 point. A miss is zero points. Tally the score for this phase, add it to the score for the previous phase write it on the target. The maximum score possible for both phases is 100 points (an aggregate of Phases 1 and 2). To qualify, each shooter must score at least 80 points.

Viking Tactics Half and Half Drill (Rifle)

Scoring: All hits inside A-Zone count for 10 point. Outside are 0 Single Target 20 Yds Away Start Position Low Ready 20 yds 10 Rounds in 10 seconds. 10 yds 10 Rounds in 5 seconds. 5 yds 10 Rounds in 2.5 seconds.

Hackathorn 3-second Head Shot Standards (Pistol)


Range: 5 yd Target: 3 IDPA or IPSC Targets, shldr height, two foot seperation Rounds: 9 Par Time: 3 Sec All Strings

1. Fire one (and only one) shot at the head of each target, left-right. 2. Fire one (and only one) shot at the head of each target, right-left. 3. Fire one (and only one) shot at the head of each target, middle target then outside targets in any order. Any hit on head (A+B Zone) counts as a hit. Hits after Par count as misses. Minimum 7 hits to qualify.

TRI-10 (Pistol)

CSAT Pistol Instructor Standards (09/10)


Only score shots in the center box and head of the CSAT target. If an enemy turns sideways, that will be all the shooter has to engage, resulting in a worse case scenario. All shot at 7 yrds except for string 10. 1. Ready, 1 shot, 1 target- 1 SEC 2. Holster, 1 shot, 1 target 1.7 SEC 3. Ready, 2 shots, 1 target 1.5 SEC 4. Hackathorn Carbine Classifier


Designer: Ken Hackathorn Scoring: Limited Vickers (each point down equals one second) Targets: Three IDPA silhouettes, spaced two yards apart, with the target heights as follows: T1 @ 6, T2 @ 4 and T3 at 5. Range equipment needed: Electronic shot timer; carbine with two magazines, pouch and sling; barricade and 55 gallon drum Rounds: 90 Phase I 20 yards 1. The shooter starts with two magazines, one loaded with 25 rounds and the other with five rounds. The carbine is loaded first with the 25 round magazine, round chambered, safety on and at low ready. 2. On the signal, the shooter fires two rounds on each target while moving forward. All six rounds must be fired before the shooter reaches the 15-yard line. 3. At the 15-yard line, the shooter lines up on T1. On the start signal, the shooter movers laterally to the right firing one shot at each target, then moves to the left, again firing one shot at each target for a total of six rounds. All rounds must be fired on the move. Cumulative round count: 12 4. Shooter aligns on T2 and on start signal begins backing up, firing two rounds on each target. Cumulative round count: 18 5. Shooter then loads with the five round magazine and places the magazine from the carbine in his carry pouch. 6. At 20 yards, begin with back to the targets and on signal, pivot and engage each target with two rounds, reload and again engage each target with two rounds for a carbine El Presidente. The weapon and both magazines should be empty at this point. Cumulative round count: 30 Score and paste targets. Each target should have 10 hits. Misses incur five-second penalties. Shooter begins with his back to the targets and on signal to fire, pivots and fires one shot on each target, reloads and again fires one shot on each target. Cumulative round count: 54 8. Beginning behind the barricade and using it for cover, upon signal, engage each target in tactical order with two rounds each. Execute a reload behind cover and upon the reload being complete in all respects, advance to the 35yard line, taking cover behind the 55-gallon drum at that point. From the kneeling position at that point, and using the barrel as cover, engage each target with two rounds each. Cumulative round count: 84 4. Begin standing behind the barrel at 35 yards. Upon the start signal, drop to kneeling, using the barrel for cover and engage each target with two rounds from the OPPOSITE side that you used for cover in the preceding step (no weak side shoulder transition necessary). The carbine and magazines should be empty at this point. Cumulative round count: 90 5. Score and paste the targets. Each target should have 10 hits. Scoring: Limited Vickers (no extra shots allowed). The course uses 50 rounds of ammunition, which eliminates the hundreds of "how many rounds do we need? questions. A tactical load should also be required at the end of every string prior to movement to the next phase. Also introduced was a 360-degree scan prior to holstering or movement. Another possible modification can be done during the moving phase. Have the officers set up with only seven rounds in the gun and seven in their last magazine. Then have them shoot to slide lock on the advance, perform a slide lock reload, and then shoot from three yards back to 10 yards while withdrawing on command. To reinforce the concept of fighting in a 360-degree world, start the shooters facing uprange with their backs to the targets in an "indoor ready". Then on command, the shooters turn and engage without ever having a muzzle cross the body part of another shooter. This type of training helps reinforce muzzle discipline in both training and the real world. Another variation could involve having the shooters fire their controlled pair, take a side step, and then engage the headshot. Throughout, the course remains the same, but the addition of twists helps to achieve different training goals and competencies.

Note: On occasion, delete the shuffle back portion to simulate the physical or tactical inability to step back (such as being the first officer on an entry and therefore unable to step back into the stack)

One Round each at two targets three yards apart (performed twice) Low Ready 1.65 seconds(3.30 total time) (4 rounds) 6. 180 pivot. One round each at three targets (performed twice). Turn left, then right. Concealed from Holster 3.50 seconds (7.00 total time) (6 rounds) 7. One Round, slide locks back; drop to one knee; reload; fire one round. (performed twice) Low Ready 4.00 seconds (8.00 total time) (4 rounds) Qualification: Time: Cannot exceed total time for each drill. Example: Drill #1 1st time 1.70 seconds, 2nd time 1.55 seconds; Total = 3.25 seconds = Go. Must achieve a "GO" on each drill. Total rounds fired is 30. Point value inside bottle = 5. Point value touching line or outside bottle = 2. Maximum possible score = 150. Mininum qualifying score = 135. All stages must equal "GO" to qualify. If you don't qualify, you don't fly!

All strings are started from the holster. -1 shot to the head in 1.5 seconds at 3 yards. X2, for a total of 10 points. -2 rounds to the chest in 1.5 seocnds at 5 yards. 10 points. -2 rounds to the chest in 1.5 seconds at 7 yards. 10 points. -2 rounds to the chest in 2 seconds at ten yards. 10 points. -2 rounds to the chest, standing to kneeling in 3.5 seconds at 15 yards. 10 points. -2 rounds to the chest, standing to prone in 6 seconds at 25 yards. 10 points. -A full El Presidente, at 10 yards, turn 180 degrees, draw and shoot 2 rounds to each of three targets, reload and repeat) in 10 seconds. 60 points possible.
