1, Major Funetion: MANAGEMENT OF INSTRUCTIONAL TIME,
The students entered the classroom withthe daily routine presented up on the overhead sereen. The warm-up activity was
also projected on the overhead screen as well. The students had boxed materials and lap top computers that were ready
for them on their desks for the lesson. The class time was used effectively and the lesson started on time, precisely three
minutes after students were lsmissed from their elective classes

The students have a” daily rowtine” reminder and “behavior expectations” that were reviewed by the seacher at differens
times throughout the lesson. bell was also used to gain the class attention while the students were working on the
“Gizmo” activity an ihe lap top computers.

3. Major Funetion: INSTRUCTIONAL PRESENTATION
The students were building on their knovledge of fractions with practice with whole group and individual work The
students had smooth transitions from the warm-up activity to the Gizrao (internet) work that was led by Mr. Relles. The
studenis had many practice problems that were worked on the board and shared with the whole graup to cheek for
accuracy and understanding. The students followed the assignments and adjusied their behavior with tle del

4. Major Function: INSTRUCTIONAL MONITORING
‘The students hud a tmer set to ensure they had an adequate amount of time 1o-work on the given assignments. During
individual work times, Mr. Relles would move between stations to assist students and check on their progress. Questions
were asked fo ensure student understanding and clarify concerns to the steps that were taken to solve the addition fraction
problems.

‘The students were responsible for their learning by copying and! solving problems from the board and worksheets, The
students were supported with positive feedback, such as, “good” and “that’s right” throughout the lesson, The students
‘worked problems individually and were guided by the teacher throughout the lesson. While an the lap tops, students were
able to have individual guided practice with the Gizmo web page.
