Introduction: Today we are going to be learning vocabulary skills 10 Minutes Instruction: Hand out slips of paper with vocab words, definitions, and words used in context. Students must use the clues on their slips of paper to find a classmate with the word/definition matching their word/definition. These will be the partners used in the activity. Discuss how students figured out the meaning of their word based on the context. How did you figure out the meaning? What clues from the sentence did you use? Did you find any hints from the words themselves? How could you use these strategies on the ACT for unfamiliar words?

Introduce activity. Students will be responsible for teaching their vocab word to the rest of the class. They will be assigned a strategy; folded vocabulary, create a bumper sticker, acting out what the word means, create a picture for the word, or any other creative way to teach their word. All choices must be approved. Students will work on their lessons with their partner. Students will teach their lessons to the class. Assessment/Check for Understanding: Lessons Closure: Tomorrow you will be working in your groups again completing your plays. I will also hand out your final performance project because I know that some groups are pretty far in their plays. Self Assessment:
