Spring Comments General Overview of Child (description, interests, routines, and social interaction) ------ is an outgoing and intelligent member of our classroom. He makes contributions frequently and consistently in all subject areas. He produces good work both in groups and individually. ----- shows a strong interest in school and it is clear that he wants to do very well. He is very strong socially as well. He gets along with all members of the class and can work cooperatively in any group he is put in. ----- enjoys joking around with his friends in class and has improved his knowledge of the difference between being funny and potentially being rude. He spends much of his free time during the day reading about football or playing football outside with others. ----- is also very helpful to the students in the classroom who are still learning English, and will often clarify words or phrases for them as they need it. ----- is a very confident and social member of this 5th grade classroom. -Needs to work on self monitoring. -Still needs to improve the difference between joking a teasing others.
Revised October 2011

Teachers Reflections on Childs Academics (areas of strength and areas for growth) ----- is strong academically. He raises his hand constantly to answer questions and he gives the correct answer almost 100 percent of the time. ----- is also very good with understanding new, abstract concepts that are introduced to the class. ----- completes math extensions and challenges in a small group outside of class twice a week. ----- is a very strong member of the class, but this tends to conflict with his desire to finish assignments and assessments first. ----- rushes through his work often, which results in him making many careless mistakes. ---- needs to work on checking his assignments over before handing them in in order to avoid these mistakes. Specifically in ELA, ----needs to work on reading through his written work to avoid errors and lack of supporting evidence. ----- also needs to work on keeping discussions relevant when he is working in groups. He understands the content, but easily goes off topic when the teacher is not near him during group work. Since he is a very strong member of the class, his actions tend to dictate how others will work. The more ----- is on task, the more his peers will follow his lead and do the same. Work on: -impulsivity -proofreading -organization -respecting authority -staying on task in small groups Parent/Guardian Signature: ________________________________________________ Date: _________________ Teacher Signature: __________________________________________________________ Date: _________________
