Materials: Size 10 crochet cotton thread 12" of 5/8" ribbon OR 1 yd. of 1/4" ribbon Crochet hook size 8 Finished size: About 7 1/2" x 2"

Ch 14. Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from hook, ch 8, skip next 8 ch, dc in each of the last 2 ch; ch 3, turn. Row 2: Dc in the 2nd dc, ch 8, skip next 8 ch, dc in the next dc, dc in the top of the turning ch; ch 3, turn. Rows 3 - 29: Repeat row 2. (Do not ch 3, turn at the end of row 29.) Working around the outside of the bookmark: Sc around the post of the first dc on the side of the bookmark,** *ch 1, skip the next dc on the side of the bookmark, (trc, ch 3, sc in the top of the trc just made) 5 times around the post of the next dc on the side of the bookmark, ch 1, skip the next dc on the side of the bookmark, sc around the post of the next dc on the side of the bookmark.* Repeat from * to * 6 times; ch 12, skip 8 ch at the end of the bookmark, sc around the post of

the first dc on the opposite side of the bookmark; ch 1, turn. Work 12 sc around the ch 12, sl st in the next sc; ch 1, turn. Sc in the first sc, ch 3, sc in the top of the sc just made (sc in the next sc, ch 3, sc in the top of the sc just made) 11 times; sl st in the next sc.** Repeat from ** to **once, fasten off. Weave in ends. Finishing: Spray starch and iron the bookmark.Weave the 5/ 8" ribbon over and under the center chains by twos. Or cut the 1/4" ribbon into 3 12" pieces and weave each piece the same way, alternating the center piece. Trim ribbon.
