Ingram 31 January 2013 WILTBY Just by mere appearance a person could conclude that I am an average sized female, younger, with long brown hair and pale skin. But mere appearances are only illusions to the naked eye. One single glance will not tell you anything about a person. My mere appearances do not tell a person the simplest things about me; like that I value family, enjoy the smell of sunflowers, or find running to be calming. My appearance also does not tell you the significant things about me such as, my strong bond with God, desire for self improvement, or determination to reach goals set forth by myself. First and foremost I am someone with strong beliefs. My parents, Robert and Susan, grounded our family with strong Christian morals and values. My attendance and completion at a private Christian academy, regular attendance to church and in bible study, Baptism, and involvement in youth group all reinforce my morals and values. Prayer too reinforces my beliefs, allowing me to connect spiritually with God on a personal basis. I am someone who walks along side God, attempting to live by His standards. My faith is most important to me, it not only guides my life but it provides my life with meaning and hope. Other than being a strong Christian I am a person with motivation and the desire for self improvement. I come from a family who does not traditionally attend college. My father graduated from high school and skipped college in order to establish a family business. My mother graduated from a two year technical school, only to become a stay-at-home mother. My

oldest brother, Robert, dropped out of high school in order to help my father run the family business. My other brothers, David and Kyle, both chose the similar pathway of entering the workforce upon graduating from high school. I on the other hand, consider education to be important, alongside my faith. Thus, I decided to continue my education by enrolling into a four year university, making me the first of four children in my family to pursue a higher form of education. My determination makes me strive to complete goals that I have set forth for myself.
