LWSD District Information

New Grading System Information Night
One mission of Middle schools is to serve as a transition from elementary school to high school. Next year, a new middle school report card will serve that same function. It will provide letter grades like the high school report card but include more information on how students are doing compared to district and state standards, like the elementary report card. Information will be available on the district website as well. Want to learn more? Linda Stevens, the district's director of curriculum and assessment, will explain the district's middle school grading system and the new report card at a series of upcoming parent meetings. She will also preview upcoming changes in state standards and testing, explaining how this new grading and reporting system will aid teachers and parents in helping students succeed. Attend any one of these two remaining meetings (all will cover the same information): April 16, Redmond Middle School, 6:30 p.m. May 7, Kirkland Middle School, 6:30 p.m.

Weigh in on School District Ballot Measures

Lake Washington School District is inviting parents, staff and community members to provide input on what measures the district's board of directors should propose for the ballot in February 2014. At that time, the district's Educational Programs & Operations Levy, which funds 22.9 percent of the district's general fund, will be up for renewal. The capital projects levy, which funds major building repairs and upgrades as well as all technology, is also up for renewal. The first of four meetings is on Tuesday, April 23, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Redmond High School. Detailed information and additional informational meetings can be found by clicking this link
