Distilled water

Schematic Diagram: 1. Obtain 2-3 drops or 5 mg compound 1 and 2 mL distilled water. Shake vigorously and observe, 2. If compound 1 doesnt dissolve completely. Add another 1.5 mL of distilled water and stir 3. If the compound dissolves completely in water, It is classified to Group A. After, check the pH. 4. If compound 1 is insoluble in water, obtain a new sample ot compound 1 and add 3 Ml of 5% NaOH. If it dissolves determine further its solubility with 3 mL 4$ NaHCO3 . 5. If it both dissolces it is classified to Group B1 but if it is soluble in NaOH but not in NaHCO3 it beongs to group B2. 6. If compound 1 is insoluble in NaOh Obtain a new sample and add 3 mL 5% HCl. It soluble in HCl it belongs to Group C and if insoluble it belongs to Group D 7. Do procedure 1-3, to compounds 2, 3, 4, and 5. Classify compounds 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
