HOW TO SAVE FLASH GAMES AND MOVIES TO

YOUR HARD DRIVE


This eDocument will explain in simple steps, how to save a flash game or movie to your hard
drive or USB Flash Memory drive. The process is much the same for which ever version of
explorer you’re running, you can also achieve the same results using Firefox Internet browser
on Windows or Mac.

WHAT DO I NEED?

- A computer loaded with Microsoft Internet Explorer


- A Hard Drive or Flash Memory Stick

THE PROCESS…

1. Firstly open up your Microsoft Internet Explorer and got to ‘Tools’ and then ‘Options’
from the main menu. (You will be presented with a dialog box similar to the image
below)

2. Internet Explorer saves all images, cookies, text and flash games to its’ cache
memory, the default setting of Internet Explorer usually dump these files after a few
days. To make it easier to find your flash game, you need to delete all the existing
temporary files in Internet Explorer. Click on the ‘Delete’ button and clear all files and
history. When your finished, click on ‘OK’ and return to the Internet Explorer main
screen.
3. No go to the URL (Your Favorite website) that has the game you wish to save. Load
the game up and allow it to run on Internet Explorer. The game should now be save
into Internet Explorers cache memory.
4. Go to ‘Tools’ and ‘Options’ from your main menu. Click on the ‘Setting’ button under
the ‘General’ tab. You will be presented with a dialog box similar to the image below.

5. Click on the ‘View Files’ button and you will be presented with a list of files which
have loaded since you deleted and cleared in the cache memory in Step 2.
6. Now you need to search these file to find you game. Look for the file ending in the
extension .swf (flash format). See image below.

7. The file will generally start with the games name. Simply right mouse click on this file
and then ‘Copy’. Paste the file in a folder of choice on your hard drive.
8. To play the game in Internet Explorer offline, right mouse click on the file you’ve now
saved to your hard drive and click on ‘Open with’. Search the Selected Program List
and find Internet Explorer. Place a tick in the box always open with this program.

This completes the process for backing up your Microsoft Outlook emails to 1 backup file.
