For oleate, photo-oxidation is about 30,000 times more rapid and for linoleate and linolenate this value is 1500 and 900, respectively. The relative rates of autoxidation of purified esters of oleic acid (C18:1):linoleic acid (C18:2):linolenic acid (C18:3) were reported to be 1:41:98 as compared by oxygen absorption measurements (Dunn, 2008). A European standard (EN 14112) using a Rancimat apparatus has been established for inclusion of an oxidative stability parameter in the European biodiesel standard (EN 14214). The biodiesel standard EN 14214 calls for determining oxidative stability at 110 C with a minimum induction period of 6 h
