Turbine Trip Analysis Report:

Date : 27/01/13

a) Trip Details : U- 3 Turbine was running with 57 MW smoothly at 9.08.57 hrs and suddenly Turbine tripped and alarm noticed by Turbine DCS operator that, the Lube oil pr. Low and MOP stop indication observed and AOP started in auto mode. But TG tripped and load comes to 0 MW at 9.09.01 Hrs. b) Turbine parameters at that time of tripping: Sl. c) Turbine Trip Set Points : Lube Oil Pr. Low Low = 0.800 KSC (from Pr. Switch) Trip Oil pr. Low Low = 4.5 KSC (from Pr. Switch) d) Observation from the above parameter: 1) MOP Trip indication and Alarm not coming to DCS. 2) AOP ON indication comes at 9.08.58 hrs. 3) Load starts reducing from 9.08.58 hrs and it indicates Turbine tripped. 4) After starting the AOP, the Oil pressure not developing for next 4 seconds. It leads to trip. 5) Turbine Trip alarm not showing in DCS. 6) Turbine tripped at 9.08.59 hrs, at that time the trip oil switch cut off with the oil pr. Of 8.045 KSC showing in DCS( Pr. Tr. Reading) Again TG synchronized with Grid at 9.31 hrs and load increased up to 57 MW. This is for your kind information. Regards, K.K.Jothi/ DGM ( O & M )
