Summary I am a kind and compassionate Elementary School Teacher dedicated to creating an atmosphere that is stimulating, supportive, and encouraging to all students. I enjoy using modern technology in the classroom to further differentiate ways of connecting with today's youth. I am also an educator who helps infuse a passion of reading in my students; through exposing them to both classic & modern literature. Accomplishments Received the ETS Recognition of Excellence National Award given to educators who score in the top 15% of the Praxis II Test - Elementary Ed: Content Knowledge. Pahranagat Valley Elementary School Alamo, NV Student Teacher 5th Grade Observed and assessed student performance and kept thorough records of progress. Managed classrooms of 18 to 21 students during the absence of assigned teachers. Established clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects. Encouraged students to persevere with challenging tasks. Worked outside normal hours to be available to answer parent and student questions. Used children's literature to teach and reinforce reading, writing, grammar and phonics. Encouraged students to explore issues in their lives and in the world around them.
