J PANESE PERFECTION.
Enter a shop where they sell LCD TVs. They look all the same. Examine all the brands. Evaluate the quality of image, the crispness of colour, the reliability of Japanese technology, and the elegance of design. Then choose the one that convinces you the most. AQUOS. The difference is Sharp
With plants for leading-edge LCD panels and thin-film solar cells*1, the new Green Front Sakai factory complex will ensure the most efficient manufacturing processes and consumption of energy. In Sakai, Sharp will produce LCD panels for TVs that are the worlds top class in every respect: image quality, performance and cost. The complex combines in an ideal way the production of LCD panels and Sharp thin-film solar cells as the biggest*2 solar factory worldwide with a production capacity of one gigawatt.
Portions indicated by dotted lines and rooftop solar cell panels are an artists concept of the completed appearance. *1 The thin-film solar-cell plant is scheduled to start production by March 2010. *2 Based on publicly available information as of February 2010.
During its 50-year history, Sharp has produced solar cells with a total capacity of more than two gigawatts and is thus the worlds largest* photovoltaic manufacturer. Crystalline photovoltaic modules, thin-film solar modules, light concentrators Sharp develops more solar technologies than any other manufacturer.
* Based on publicly available information as of February 2010.
As a technology company with an environmental approach, Sharp produces innovative LED products like LED lamps and solar street lights with integrated LEDs. In 2009, Sharp presented the LED backlight the next generation in Sharp AQUOS LCD TVs. The new backlight technology can control more than 1,000 LEDs individually. Due to this innovative technology, the image is even sharper, the colours are more brilliant and the ecological characteristics are better than ever before.
ENVIRONMENT L LY FRIENDLY.
Making a Tangible Contribution to Environmental Protection What qualities should a product have? There are a thousand answers to this question. But one point is becoming increasingly important: environmental friendliness. Let us be honest. Many manufacturers today make good products. But few produce green products. Sharp wants to be a pioneer in this area and is committed to the protection of the natural resources on which our lives are based. So we want to make a contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions worldwide when we are manufacturing products that generate and save energy. Already in 2005 Sharp could officially prove that its TVs are environmentally advanced. We are very proud to introduce the example of Europe, where our LCD TVs are the first TV devices to bear the official environmental seal of the EU, the EU Eco-label. It can already be seen adorning nearly our complete current TV line-up.
Improve Your CO2 Footprint With our 40LE700M, 46/40LB700M, 40L55M, 40L50M, 60/52/46/42A77M, 46/42/37/32A66M and 32A37M, Sharp has shown already how easy saving can be. These models are equipped with advanced optical picture control (OPC), which helps to reduce the power consumption according to the room brightness. Environmentally friendly features include the long-life backlight, eco-oriented materials and design convenient for recycling.
Innovation Meets Ecology Outstanding examples are presented with our new 40LE700M and 46/40LB700M. Extremely low power consumption, a mercury-free backlight, resource saving in design and packaging and high recyclability characterize this series.
LED BRIALLI
Exquisite Artistic Design Provides a Superior Sense of Integration with the Wall.
Mega Contrast
With a full LED backlight, luminance can be controlled with greater precision than with a CCFL backlight because of the differences in intensity control properties. Compared to the modulation rate of a typical CCFL backlight, the ultra-bright LED backlight is capable of modulating down to an unbelievable rate.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
AQUOS LCD TV
Full-HD 1080P AQUOS LED
Full HDTV resolution in progressive format The AQUOS LED system enables ultra-high contrast, higher colour purity, high brightness and a wide viewing angle.
Dolby Digital
Dolby Digital surround is commonly used with Blu-ray and DVD players. It is compatible with 5.1-channel surround sound and provides life-like dynamic sound playback.
MEGA Contrast
Sharps proprietary LED backlight technology enables amazing contrast and vivid colours.
DTS 2.0 + Digital Out is commonly used with BD and DVD players. Compatible with 5.1-channel surround, it can reproduce high-quality, dynamic sound with realism.
Teletext
The full-HD panel uses a newly developed 100Hz/120Hz Fine Motion Advanced technology that recreates images with twice the number of frames as conventional systems, resulting in a high response speed for moving scenes.
Teletext information is broadcast in the vertical blanking interval between image frames in a broadcast television signal.
The 24p format is the native rate used for movie source material shot at 24 frames per second. With 24p material input from a Blu-ray player, the AQUOS can produce the unaltered cinema image just as it was intended.
HDMI is an interface for digital audio/video signals. HDMI is compatible with the HDCP copy protection standard.
AQUOS LINK
By connecting an AQUOS unit and a Sharp Blu-ray Disc player using an HDMI cable, the player can be easily operated using the AQUOS remote control.
Bass Enhancer
The Bass Enhancer system creates powerfull bass at low frequencies befitting a large display by using an advanced digital system. Both SRS TruSurround XT and SRS TruSurround HD produce a multichannel audio experience that creates a sensation of being surrounded by sound while using only two front-facing speakers. The listener can experience 5.1-channel content without needing five speakers and a subwoofer. In addition, dialogue is produced with greater clarity and enhanced bass is delivered even from small speakers.
Power consumption during operation is automatically reduced by controlling the backlight brightness according to the room lighting conditions.

Blu-ray Disc
Blu-ray Disc is a new-generation optical disc storage media format. While it has the same 12-cm diameter as a CD or DVD, a Blu-ray Disc has up to five times the information capacity of a DVD, with approx. 25 GB on a single-layer disc and 50 GB on a dual-layer disc.
BD-LIVE
A variety of content, such as movie trailers with interactive functions, are available using this format by connecting to the internet.
BONUSVIEW
Optional features can be accessed by playing a Blu-ray Disc that is compatible with BONUSVIEW (a.k.a. Profile 1.1). For example, on a sub-screen you can see an outline of the film scene you are viewing or watch video on the making of that scene while the film is playing on the main screen.
Full-HDTV resolution in progressive format DVD-Video is a technical specification stipulated by the DVD Forum for storing video content on DVD media. The specification uses MPEG-2 for compressing video and can be used to store more than two hours of video in picture quality that surpasses laser disc.

The Compact Disc Digital Audio system, or CDDA, is the standard for audio CDs. It specifies the digital audio encoding as two channels of PCM audio, each signed 16-bit values sampled at 44,100 Hz. The maximum recording time is approximately 80 minutes on a 12-cm CD. Unlike analog records, the sound quality does not deteriorate even if the CD is played many times.
Dolby Digital Plus was developed from the earlier Dolby Digital to enhance quality of sound and functionality. It can support increased bitrates at high quality with more audio channels to provide superior surround sound entertainment for digital high-definition TV broadcasts, optical disc media and online content.
Dolby True HD
Dolby True HD is an advanced lossless multi-channel audio codec intended primarily for high-definition home-entertainment equipment, such as Blu-ray Disc.
Design and specifications are current as of February 2010, but are subject to change without prior notice.
