Dear Friends:

As some of the many women in New York who have dedicated our careers to public
service, we are united in our support for Melinda Katz for New York City Comptroller—
the only announced female candidate for citywide office this year. Melinda is a tough,
smart, intelligent leader who brings a unique perspective to helping families and those
most in need during these perilous economic times.

Amid this challenging environment, women in families throughout New York sit around
their kitchen tables figuring out how to make ends meet, making difficult decisions
about their budgets and priorities that are in the best interests of their families. We
need a Comptroller who can do the same for the City’s budget and finances. We need a
Comptroller who ensures that the City works for working families.

That is exactly the kind of Comptroller Melinda Katz would be. We wholeheartedly
support her candidacy for this important office at this crucial time and urge all New
Yorkers to join us.
