Cultural differences are the biggest cause of centrifugal forces (forces that divide countries) in the European Union. Together, the countries of the European Union have as much economic (money) power as the United States. The EU flag, Europe Day, and European citizenship were created to promote European cultural identity. European Parliament (government like our house of representatives and senate) the larger the country the more representatives they get to have. That means that the smaller countries dont have as many votes and frequently dont get their way on decisions. The Euro (common European money) has helped erase the boundaries of Europe and has helped people travel from country to country. The European Union has helped countries trade with each other, because they charge no tariffs (taxes) on goods coming into and out of countries.
