MiCOM P111
UniversaI Three Phase Overcurrent Protection ReIay
with Communication
Note: The mounting and connection of the device should be carried out by qualified personnel.
1. Key for the manuaI
There are five hardware versions of P111. Model 'A'
is a standard version. nputs in this model are not
marked as an option (Fig. 8). Model 'B' has
additional earth-fault current input o and
communication port RS485. Model 'C' version, apart
from 'B' features, has additional binary inputs V1,
V2, and output relays P3, P4. Model 'E' has the
some number of inputs/outputs but has increased
measuring range and event record with time tag.
Depending on a model chosen, there are different
options for the relay configuration.
Therefore, the foIIowing key for the reIay
description was adopted in this manuaI: if
no reference is made when describing a
specific feature of the reIay, then this
feature is avaiIabIe for aII reIay versions; if
(BCE)* or (CE)* references are used, then
the described feature is avaiIabIe in
modeIs: B, C and E or onIy C and E modeI
respectiveIy.
See the commerciaI pubIication for further information on the
product features and appIication arrangements.
2. Product Description
The scope of P111 applications covers:
industry and MV distribution networks;
back-up protection in MV and HV
applications,
LV applications.
The relay protects one, two or three-phase
applications against earthfault and phase-to-
phase short-circuit faults. t can control a circuit-
breaker or contactor. Thanks to an
implemented communication port, it can
exchange information with a supervisory
system in terms of measurements, relay state,
switches control, etc.

3. Mounting Procedure
There are two housing types available: 35 mm DN
rail or flush mounted.
Rail mounted version:
Clip the relay onto a rail (no tool needed). n order to
remove it from the rail use a narrow, flat
screwdriver, put its tip in a special opening in the
bottom part of the device's base and push the
screwdriver handle upwards to release the spring
bolt.
Flush mounted version:
Make a cut-out in mounting plate according to fig. 7.
Then insert the relay into it. Fit fastening elements
(see fig. 7) into the slots in the sides of the housing,
and keep turning the fastening screws until the relay
is securely fixed to the plate. To remove the relay
undo the screws, so that the fastening element
could be taken out, and then the relay could be
withdrawn from the cut-out in the mounting plate.
4. Feeder wires connection
NOTE: Terminals "K - "L (optional earthfault input),
and "TR+ - "TR- (optional communication port) are
only available if a relevant relay version is ordered.
The optional nature of the terminals is marked by
their description on the relay front panel in red
colour. Before any wire connection to these
terminals is made, make sure you have the right
relay version (o input and RS485 options are only
available in B, C and E models).
35 mm DN rail mounted housing:
All screw terminals allow connection of threaded
wires of up to 2.5 mm2 or solid wires of 4 mm2 of
conductor cross section. f the required current
setting is within the setting range of the relay, then
phase feeders should be fed directly through the
guiding channels in the relay housing (fig. 1). f the
required current setting is greater than 200 A, then
external protection CTs' should be used together
with the relay of measuring range (4-100)A or (2-
50)A. Then, secondary circuit wires of the CT's
should be fed through the guiding channels (fig. 1).
f the required current setting is below the minimum
value of the relay setting range, then phase
conductors should be coiled several times through
the guiding channels in relay housing (fig. 2), if only
a channel cross section allows to do so. The
number of turns (n) must be identical for each of the
phases.
ExampIe:
The relay has a setting range of (2-50)A; required
current setting range is (0,5-12,5)A.
The phase wires should be coiled fourfold through
the relevant guiding channels of the relay
(increasing the number of CT coils decreases the
transformer ratio: 2A/4=0,5A).
Flush mounlod housing.
Screw terminals are located on the rear side of the
housing, and are used to connect inputs, outputs,
and current circuits. Threaded or solid wires of 4
mm2 conductor cross section may be connected to
current terminals. The remaining terminals allow
connection of threaded wires of up to 2.5 mm2 or
solid wires of 4 mm2. Due to implementation of
screw terminals for current circuits, continuous and
dynamic load rating is limited, if compared to rail
mounted version (see Technical Data). Due to the
thermal withstand of relay's terminals, it is
recommended to use external CTs' in applications,
where continuous load current is >3N.
NOTE: Due to required accuracy limit factors it is
recommended to use CT's dedicated for protection
relays.
5. Inputs and outputs
Terminal connections for DN rail and flush mounted
versions have identical descriptions. This does not
apply to current circuits of the rail mounted version,
whose phase wires are fed through guiding
channels in the relay housing. For flush mounted
version phase wires are connected to screw
terminals: phase A (L1): 1-2; phase B (L2): 3-4;
phase C (L3): 5-6.
Auxiliary supply voltage Vx is connected to A1-A2
terminals. Polarity of the connection is not fixed,
however for the sake of clarity it is recommended to
apply "+ (L) to A1, and "- (N) to A2.
Output contacts are assigned to the following
terminal connections of the relay: 13-14 (P1 relay);
23-24 (P2 relay); 33-34 (P3 relay) (CEF)*; 41-42-44
(P4 relay) (CEF)*.
Technical data of the output contacts are quoted in
section 11.
S1-S2 and T1-T2 terminals, if not configured as
PTC input, may be connected to an external NO
contact or a switch, whose purpose is to trigger a

relay function assigned to these terminals

(previously configured from the relay menu).
Terminals T1-T2 may be used to connect from 1 up
to 6 PTC sensors linked in series. PTC input is
standardised, and can co-operate with sensors of
any type and origin.
T1-T2 terminals, if configured as PTC input, can
also be used as an input for an external protection
within an application. f this is the case a normally
closed contact should be connected to T1-T2
terminals. f the external protection is not tripped,
then T1-T2 is closed by the remote NC contact; if
the external protection is tripped, then its output
circuit connected to T1-T2 opens, and thus trip the
relay.
NOTE: Since there is an internal current source
connected to S1-S2, T1-T2 input, no voltage can be
applied to the terminals.
V1-C (CEF)* and V2-C (CEF)* terminals are assigned to
binary inputs. f auxiliary supply Vx is applied to the
inputs, two assigned functions, which were previously
configured from the menu of P111, can be triggered.
K-L (BCEF)* terminals are used to connect an
external earth fault current filter, that is a core
balance CT (Ferranti) or Holmgreen arrangement.
Although earthfault protection o> is non-directional,
and polarity of its connection to the relay is not
fixed, yet for the sake of clarity it is recommended to
connect "K and "L on the relay, to the respective
"k and "l terminals on the earthfault filter. A
standard core balanced CT has rated current of 1A,
so the relay model with rated earthfault current of
on=1A should be ordered. n case a higher setting
range is required for the relay, then the model of
on=5A must be ordered.
For Holmgreen arrangement, whose CT's
secondary rated current is 5A, P111 with oN=5A
must be ordered.
"TR+ and "TR- (BCE)* are used to connect a
standard two-wire communication link RS485.
NOTE: Unlike other pairs of terminals, it is crucial
for "TR+ and "TR- terminals to keep the required
polarity of the connection.
6. Setting and commissioning
NOTE:
- all settings may be input to the relay before it is
actually connected in an application,
- relay settings shall be changed with a main bay
switch open.
Setting and configuration of the relay is done by
means of the relay keypad (fig. 3, item 1), while
corresponding information is indicated on the relay
front panel display (fig. 3, item 2).
Fig. 5 shows the relay menu and the way to
navigate through it. The information indicated on
this figure applies to factory settings of the relay.
The dark boxes denote, where a specific setting can
be modified.

NOTE: ,Right and ,down keys, if pressed
simultaneously, perform display and LEDs' test,
during which all LEDs' and segments of the display
illuminate for 3 s.
6.2 Starting the reIay; setting procedures
a) Connect auxiliary supply voltage Vx to terminals
A1-A2.
Then:
LED's: >>, >, p>, o>, PTC, ZZ flash for a short
instant of time,
LED L1 lights on and actual current value for the
phase L1 is indicated on the display,
e.g.
Since the factory setting for T1-T2 input is to co-
operate with PTC sensors, and PTC over-
temperature protection is enabled, then when
activating the relay for the first time the LED
7
assigned to PTC trip lights on. f co-operation with
PTC sensors is not requested, then
overtemperature protection should be disabled.
f disconnection of the relay from supply voltage Vx
or supply voltage interruption (see Technical Data
for hold time values) takes place after the relay has
been tripped by one of its protections, then the relay
status is recorded. When the supply voltage is
restored, a LED corresponding to the protection
tripped lights on, and output relays switch-over to
the states from before voltage interruption
(depending on the chosen configuration when
setting the relay). Re-starting the application is only
possible after the tripping state has been reset.
f disconnection of the relay from supply voltage Vx
or supply voltage interruption takes place in stand-
by mode of the relay (no protection has been
tripped), the output relays states on returning the
supply voltage are as follows:
State of the output relay P1 (terminals: 13-14)
depends on a mode of switch control chosen in
the menu ).
- 'circuit breaker' mode (P1 set to 0 in the menu): P1
is open
- 'protection-contactor' mode (P1 set to 1 in the
menu): P1 is closed
- 'bay terminal-contactor' mode (P1 set to 2
in the menu): P1 is open (CE)*
State of output relays P2, P3 (CEF)* does not
change (relay contacts remain open).
State of output relay P4 (CEF)* (change-over
contacts: 41-42-44) depends on its configuration
in the menu , that is:
- 'trigger of any protection on trip' mode (P4 set to 0
in the menu): P4 is de-energised (41-42 closed,
41-44 open).
- 'trip of any protection' mode (P4 set to 1 in the
menu): P4 is de-energised (41-42 closed, 41-44
open),
- 'no alarm (warning) of any protection' mode (P4
set to 2 in the menu): P4 is energised (41-44
closed, 41-42 open),
- 'watchdog' mode (P4 set to 3 in the menu): P4 is
energised (41-44 closed, 41-42 open),
NOTE: Output relays' state on applying auxiliary
supply voltage Vx may be different, if any of
protection functions tripped before voltage
interruption (see section 10 for details).
b) t is possible to change the relay settings only in
OFF-LNE mode. When converting the relay
operation to OFF-LNE mode, protection tripping
states are reset, and latching of all protection
features takes place. The relay status is kept that
way until it is converted again into ON-LNE mode.
To change the relay mode into OFF-LNE, the menu
item should be selected,
and the key should be pressed. Then
the letter "L" starts flashing. Press key .
Now, the menu displays . Press
. All the LEDs' start flashing, which
indicates OFF-LNE mode of operation. f a
password was input formerly, then the relay will not
convert to OFF-LNE mode, but the menu will switch
to edit password mode (see chapter 7.7: 'Entering
and changing the password').
c) looking at figure 5 (Menu navigation) and the
keypad on the relay front panel, select a menu item
to be modified.
d) Press . Then the right end digit of the
setting starts flashing. Using the keys
the setting can be
modified. Once a required value of the setting has
been input, press . Repeat the
procedure for the rest menu items to be modified.
e) After all necessary changes have been done,
select menu item , press
8
, then and, again
, in order to return to ON-LNE mode -
the LEDs' stop flashing and the relay is activated
with new settings.
NOTE! Entering edit mode of the setting module will
block all the protections, and reset their trip states.
7. Configuring the reIay
7.1 SeIecting a controI switch
- controI procedures
There are three modes of operation to which the relay
may be configured in terms of cooperation with a control
switch. A mode of operation is chosen by configuring
output relay P1 (terminals 13-14). The available options
are: 'circuit-breaker' mode, 'protection contactor' mode
and 'bay terminal contactor with RS485' mode (contactor
controlled via input V1 or RS485") (CE)*.
a) "circuit-breaker" mode
(P1 set to 0 in the menu ):
f P1 is configured to operate in 'circuit breaker'
mode, then tripping of any protection function, which
is set to trip the relay or a trip command sent via
RS485 link will make the P1 output relay switch over
for 0,5s (BCE)*.
Closing of the circuit-breaker is performed via P2 output
relay, therefore when closing is done via P111, then the
output relay P2 should be configured to 'remote or local
CB close' mode
(P2 set to 2 in the menu ).
Closing of the circuit breaker is triggered via:
input V1-C, if it is configured to 'remote or local
CB close' mode) (V1 set to 0 in the menu
) (CEF)*,
close command sent from a system via RS485
communication link (BCE)*
When closing of the circuit-breaker is commenced,
then output relay P2 (terminals 23-24) is closed for
a period of 0,5s.
t is only possible to close the circuit-breaker, if LED
trip signalling is previously reset, which prevents
from multiple attempts of the circuit-breaker closing
when a fault is present.
NOTE: n "circuit breaker" mode, the option of P2
latching should be switched off (P2c set to 0 in the
menu ).
Otherwise it will remain closed until it is reset.
b) 'Protection-contactor' mode
(P1 set to 1 in the menu
This mode of control is meant for applications,
where a contactor is the control switch, and is not
intended to be triggered via RS485.
For this control mode it is recommended to use the
standard arrangement of contactor control. On
applying auxiliary supply voltage Vx the contacts of
output relay P1 are closed. t allows closing of the
contactor. Operation of any protection, which is
configured to trip, makes the contacts of output
relay P1 open, and so it does for the contactor. P1
is kept open until output relays' tripping states and
indicating LED's are reset.
This can be done by means of:
front panel keypad
binary input S1-S2 (if configured to 'reset of
LEDs and latching' mode: the relevant value is
set to 0 in the menu )
RS485 communication link (BCE)*.
After the relay has been reset, the output contacts
of P1 relay close again, thus allowing the contactor
to be closed again.
c) 'Bay terminaI-contactor' mode (CE)*
(P1 set to "2" ).
This mode is meant for applications, where control
operations are to be performed through
communication link RS485 or/and by means of an
external switching contact.
Thus input V1-C must be configured to:
'local CB close' mode

(V1 set to 0 in the menu ), and

input V2-C must be configured to:
"CB/contactor state" mode
(V2 set to 0 in the menu ).
After auxiliary supply voltage Vx has been applied
the state of output relay P1 (13-14) does not change
(the contacts remain open), as it does when
"contactor" mode is chosen.
Closing of the contactor (P1) is initiated by:
applying auxiliary supply voltage to binary input
V1-C;
sending close command from the system,
through communication link RS485.
t is only possible to close the contactor if LED trip
signalling is previously reset, which prevents from
unintended closing operation to be performed
following a trip operation of any protection. Once
closing operation is initiated, the contacts (13-14) of
output relay P1 close for 150ms. Afterwards the
status of the contactor, whose auxiliary contacts
control the relay input V2-C is checked. f the
contactor is closed (high state at V2-C input), then
the output relay P1 remains closed.
NOTE: Tripping of any protection will
instantaneously deenergise the output relay P1,
regardless of a status of operation of the device
(higher priority of trip over close command).
Contactor tripping can be performed through:
opening of the contactor control circuit (external
OFF switch). f the circuit is open, the contactor
is de-energised. This process is monitored by
the device input V2-C, which is configured to
represent the switch state. f the input state
changes from high to low, then the output relay
P1 will instantaneously de-energise;
trip command sent via communication link
RS485, which makes the contacts of output
relay P1 (13-14) open;
trip of any protection which is set to "trip mode.
7.2 Configuration procedure for generaI
settings of P111
General settings of the device are configured in the
menu column:
- in this menu window a current
mode of relay operation is set. ON-LNE - all
protection functions are on. OFF-LNE - all
protection functions are blocked and changing of the
relay settings is possible.
- this menu window allows to
select an active setting group: 0 or 1. The two
independent setting groups applies to the following
protections: p>, >, >>, o>, o>>, ZZ, PTC. n Off-
Line mode of the relay selecting a setting group as
an active one means, that all the changes of
parameters apply to this group. Switching over
between the setting groups may be performed via
binary control inputs.
- in this menu a time delay is
selected for a setting group to switch over to the
other group, when status of control input is
changed.
- in this menu window a ratio for
phase current transformation is input, in case the
device is connected via external CTs'. The ratio can
be selected within a range from 1 to 9998, with the
step of 1. E.g. for an external CT ratio: 200A/5A, the
value to be input will be 40. t is critical for the
correct measurement and displaying of phase
current in primary values, that the ratio is properly
calculated and entered.
NOTE: Changing of the CTs' ratio does not
influence protection settings, which always use
secondary values.
- in this window a ratio for
earthfault current transformation is input (BCEF)*,
in case the device is connected to an external zero
sequence transformer (core balanced CT or
T0
Holmgreen arrangement). The ratio can be
selected within a range from 1 to 9998, with the
step of 1. E.g. for an external CT ratio: 75A/1A, the
value to be input will be 75. t is critical for the
correct measurement and displaying of earth
current in primary values, that the ratio is properly
calculated and entered.
NOTE: Changing of the CTs' ratio does not
influence protection settings, which always use
secondary values.
- this menu is used to assign a
system address to the device (BCE)*. Up to 32
P111 relays can be connected to one RS485 line. n
order that the communication between the system
and relays is secure and reliable, and that each
relay is clearly identified within the system, a unique
address must be input to each relay, which is
connected to one line. The addresses can be
selected from 1 to 255.
- rate of transmission is defined
in this menu window (BCE)*. t is important to
properly select this value to allow communication
with the relay via RS485 port. The transmission
rates to choose from are (1.2 - 19.2) kbps.
- in this window a password
can be activated and modified.
7.3 Inputs and outputs configuration
nputs and outputs configuration is done in the
menu column
- output relay P1 configuration.
A control switch and means for control can be
selected here.
0 'circuit breaker' mode. Tripping control is done
by closing the P1 contacts, for a period of time
when protections operate. Minimum time of
tripping signal is 0.5s. The energised relay is not
latched.
1 'protection-contactor' mode in the standard
control arrangement. This option does not allow
to trip a contactor through communication link
RS485.
Once auxiliary supply voltage Vx is applied, the
contacts of output relay P1 close. Trip of any
protection will make the contacts of P1 open and
remain in this state, until it is reset from the front
panel keypad or through the adequately
configured input S1-S2. Reset of the energised
output relay P1 can also be done through RS485
link (BCE)*.
2 'bay terminal-contactor' mode (CE)*.
Applying auxiliary supply voltage Vx to the device
does not change the state of output relay P1. f
voltage is applied to an input assigned to close
function or close command is sent via RS485,
then P1 contacts close, and are kept in this state
until trip command is sent via RS485 or the
contactor opens (if contactor coil circuit is
opened).
- output relay P2 configuration.
0 'trigger of any protection on trip' - contacts of P2
are energised, if current protections (PTC and ZZ
excluded), which are configured to trip, are
triggered;
1 'trip of any protection' - contacts of P2 are
energised, if tripping of any protection (PTC and
ZZ included), which is configured to trip P1, takes
place;
2 'alarm (warning) of any protection' - P2 contacts
are energised, if tripping of any protection, which
is configured to send alarm signal, takes place;
3 - (BCE)* - 'remote or local CB close' - P2 contacts
are used as an output relay in 'circuit breaker'
mode of operation, to perform 'close circuit
breaker' control. When closing CB through
communication link RS485 or an adequately
configured device input, the P2 contacts are
closed for of 0.5s.
NOTE: f P2 is set to option '3', and close
command is initiated, then the output relay P2 is
also energised when a contactor is selected as a
switch. Thus, when 'protection-contactor'; mode is
selected, P2 can be configured to all options but '3'.
TT
- configuring mode of operation
of the output relay P2
0 'without' - no latching after energising (the relay
is automatically reset, if a cause for its energising
ceases);
1 'latching' - latching of the energised relay, until
it is reset from the device keypad or adequately
configured input S1-S2, T1-T2 or via RS485
communication link (BCE)*.
- configuring the output relay P3
(CEF)*.
0 - 'trigger of any protection on trip' - the relay is
energised if triggering of any current protection
(>>, >, p>, o>, o>>), which is set to trip the
device, takes place;
1 - 'trip of any protection' - P3 contacts are
energised if tripping of any protection (>>, >,
p>, o>, o>>, PTC and ZZ), which is set to trip
takes place;
2 - 'alarm (warning) of any protection' - the relay is
energised if tripping of any protection, which is
set to alarm (p> and / or o>), takes place.
- configuring mode of operation
of the output relay P3 (CEF)*.
0 - 'without' - no latching after energising (the relay
is self-reset if a cause for its energising ceases);
1 - 'latching' - latching of the energised relay, until it
is reset from the device keypad or adequately
configured input S1-S2 or via RS485
communication link.
- configuring the output relay
P4 (CEF)*.
0 - 'trigger of any protection on trip' - the relay is
energised if triggering of any current protection
(PTC and ZZ excluded), which is set to trip the
device, takes place. (P4 is energised if >>, >,
p>, o>, o>> which are set to trip, are triggered);
1 - 'trip of any protection' - P4 contacts are
energised if tripping of any protection (PTC and
ZZ included), which is set to trip the output relay
P1, takes place;
2 - 'no alarm (warning) of any protection' - when
this option is chosen then supply voltage
presence is monitored. P4 contacts are
energised on applying auxiliary supply voltage Vx
to terminals A1 and A2 (41-44 closed, 41-42
open). The relay is deenergised if tripping of any
protection, which is set to alarm (p> and / or
o>) or watchdog detection, takes place ;
f auxiliary supply is interrupted or if the device
failure or tripping of any protection, which is set
to alarm signal takes place, the contacts of
output relay P4 switch back to their original
position (41-44 open, 41-42 closed). f any
protection trips and P4 relay deenergises, it
remains in this state, until it is reset;
3 'watchdog' - when this option is chosen then
supply voltage presence is monitored. P4
contacts are energised on applying auxiliary
supply voltage Vx to terminals A1 and A2 (41-44
closed, 41-42 open);
4 - '>> trip' - P4 contacts are energised if tripping
of >>, which is set to trip, takes place.
- configuring the binary input S1-
S2. The input is controlled by means of a contact,
which means it is enabled if terminals S1-S2 are
shorted. The following events can occur on closing
S1-S2:
0 'reset of LEDs and latching' - reset of the trip

7.7 Entering and changing password
NOTE:
f access to settings and their modyfying must
be restricted, a three digit password should be
set in the device. Then, without the password it
is only possible to view the settings, but it is not
possible to modify them.
f the password is lost or forgotten, it is
necessary to contact the manufacturer in order
to obtain the factory password. n such case,
please contact:
andrzej.juszczyk@areva-td.com, tel. +48 74
8548525 or tomasz.ciesielski@areva-td.com,
+48 74 8548481,
f "000" is chosen as a password, it removes
protection of the settings
Factory setting for the password is "000.
7.7.1 Entering a password for the first time (the factory
setting is "000)
Change mode of operation to OFF-LNE (see
point 6.2b)
Select the item and
press .
Using the keys , change the
displayed digit to the required value,
Press to confirm the password.
T
Change mode of operation to ON-LNE
(see 6.2 e).
Once completing the above procedure, the
password must be entered in order to
modify settings or configuration of the
relay.
7.7.2 Changing the password
Select the menu item and
press , which will make the relay switch
to menu item .
Enter a valid password. After entering the right
string of digits press and change mode
of operation to OFF-LNE (see 6.2 b)
Select the menu item and
enter new password.
Change mode of operation to ON-LNE (see point
6.2 c).
7.7.3 Changing settings or configuration
of the password protected device
Every attempt to change mode of operation to OFF-
LNE in the password protected device, will
automatically switch the menu to the password
window . A valid password must
be entered, and the key must be pressed.
Then the menu will automatically switch back to the
window . f the entered
password is not correct, any further attempt to
change a mode of operation will again switch back
to the password window.
8. LED indicators
On the front panel of P111 there are LED indicators : >>,
>, p>, o>, PTC, ZZ, L1, L2, L3, [kA], [s], as well as a 4
digit display. f a protection is configured to trip and it
trips, then a respective LED lights on, and is kept this
way until the trip is reset.
f a protection is configured to send an alarm signal, then
a respective LED lights off when a cause of fault, which
triggered a protection, ceases.
LED's >, >>, p>, o:
flashing LED indicates that the respective protection
is triggered (o LED represents both o> and o>>),
constant light of LED indicates tripping of the
respective protection (triggering period exceeded a
set time delay)
LED PTC:
constant light of the LED indicates that the resistance
of a circuit connected to terminals T1-T2 has
exceeded the PTC trip threshold.
LED ZZ:
constant light of the LED indicates that an external
protection ZZ has tripped.
LED's A (L1), B (L2), C (L3):
they go on individually to indicate that a respective
phase current is just displayed.
LED [kA]:
LED lights on when current value is displayed in [kA].
f the LED if off, current value is displayed in [A].
LED [s]:
LED lights on while setting the trip time values of >,
>>, p>, o>.
Simultaneous flashing of all the LEDs': >, >>, p>, o>,
PTC, ZZ indicates that the relay is currently in OFF-LNE
mode of operation.
f neither LED nor display is on, it indicates that either
auxiliary supply voltage is not applied or the device failed.
9. Events record
Events record is presented in columns:
, , .
The record of the 3 most recent trips may be stored,
including the reasons for trips and phase & earthfault
current values during the trips.
- the reason of trip
T7
- the value of current in phase L1
on the beginning of trip command.
- the value of current in phase
L2 on the beginning of trip command.
- the value of current in phase
L3 on the beginning of trip command.
- the value of earthfault current
on the beginning of trip command (BCEF)*.
10. Resetting of protection trip states
NOTE:
f disconnection of the relay from supply voltage Vx
or supply voltage interruption takes place after the
relay has been tripped by one of its protections,
then the relay status is recorded. When the supply
voltage is restored, the LED corresponding to the
protection tripped lights on, and output relays
switch-over to the states from before voltage
interruption (depending on the chosen configuration
when setting the relay),
that is:
P1 state is restored, if it is configured to
'protection-contactor' mode;
P2/P3 states are restored if they are configured
to latch on energising
Reset of LEDs': >>, >, p>, o>, PTC, ZZ and output
relays, which are configured to latch on energising, is
only possible if a cause for their energising ceases.
NOTE:
f a protection, which is set to alarm signal is
activated, a respective LED lights on. f a cause for
the alarm ceases, then the LED lights off
automatically.
There are several ways of resetting the LEDs',
which indicate protections' states set to trip, and
relays' states, whose energised states are latched:
close terminals S1-S2 for a short instant of time,
if the input is assigned to reset function (S1-S2
input set to option '0');
manual reset from the device keypad.
f key the is repeatedly pressed, the
window appears. Then the
key should be pressed;
remote reset via communication link RS485
(BCE)*, if reset command is sent in MODBUS
RTU protocol

For DN rail mounted version it is possible to widen measuring range of
the relay downwards by multiple interleaves of phase wires through the
guiding channels in the relay housing. E.g. a range of 0.5 - 12.5A in the
relay with a measuring range of 2 - 50A can be obtained by four interleaves
of each of the phase wires through the relevant channels in the relay
housing. f external CT's are used it is possible to extend a measuring range
upwards (for both housing versions).
Rated current if primary circuits (up to 1 kV) are directly connected
to the relay.

***) t is possible to set the same current range for DT and DMT
characteristics, but DMT will be cut at the maximum current value
within the range. This means, that time delay for any current value
greater than the maximum value within the range will be the same as
for the maximum. n case of >> protection, the cut of DMT
characteristics is not critical, since >> threshold is always set below
the maximum value of measuring range.

P111 may co-operate with external CTs', designed for protection applications.
The accuracy limit factor should be at least P10 (eg. 5VA 5P10 or 30VA 10P10, etc.). CT's power
should be greater than a sum of power of analogue inputs and burden of current circuit at the
relay's terminals (resistance of wires, terminals, etc.).
f a range greater than 10N is used, then a CT of rated power greater than
calculated should be matched, in order for the accuracy limit factor at real load to be sufficient (that
is greater than maximum setting).
Recommended CTs' may be ordered with the relay from the relay manufacturer.
