SAARAs House at 1100-16th Street is a Level II supervised mens recovery residence that conforms to National Association of Recovery Residences (NARR) standards. Through a valuable partnership with the Lynchburg Neighborhood Development Foundation (LNDF), we are leasing the house. SAARA provides recovery support programming for each participant. Monthly rent for the house is $1,400. Housing Coordinator position to develop and supervise the housing program total salary cost is $34,500 per year. Utility costs for the house are $1,000 monthly. Furnishings for the house are needed at a cost of $2,000-3,000 per room for 4 bedrooms, living and dining rooms, and Resident Managers quarters. Bed and table linens, small appliances, dishes, glassware, etc. are needed as gifts or at any donation amount. Yard and garden tools are needed as gifts or in any donation amount. Small toiletries such as toothpaste, soap, etc. will be appreciated as gifts for incoming residents. Resident Handbooks, 12-Step texts and other recovery support reading materials are needed at any donation level. Houses require constant maintenance we need to establish a House Maintenance Fund to enable us to respond to urgent situations.
