Advanced Antimicrobial Technology

Microorganisms & hospital infections The medical industry is challenged by the presence of microorganisms and the negative effects they cause. Textiles act as a microbial harbour and offer ideal conditions for the proliferation of microorganisms that may be harmful to humans. Nosocomial infections are a serious issue for healthcare facilities. In Europe, more than 2 million patients develop this kind of infection. Bed linen is alone responsible for 17% of all nosocomial infections.
mdical has been developed for the durable antimicrobial treatment of textile materials

which have to perform to stringent hospital laundry standards Performance tested and approved through clinical trial
mdical has been tested in vivo in hospital environments through 50 industrial laundry cycles. Results were validated by lInstitut Pasteur de Lille in the context of the European-funded research programme FlexiFunBar, contract n 505864 IP-SME-FP6.

How does the mdical technology work? The technology is based on the fixation of a non-migrating permanent anti-microbial coating on the fibres. The microorganisms are attracted to the surface and once in contact with the mdical treatment, the cell membrane of the organism is punctured, as if by a sword. The piercing mechanism deactivates the microorganism, preventing growth and proliferation. Due to the non-migrating aspect, the mdical technology does not interfere with the skin flora. Advantages mdical
mdical Proven permanent antimicrobial technology mdical Test results validated by Linstitut Pasteur de Lille mdical No migration to the skin or the environment mdical Does not induce microbial mutation mdical Environmentally responsible technology
