Introduction
With the introduction of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure to most of the rural areas, life has changed for rural communities.
In a developing country like the Philippines where the digital divide is more the rule than the exception, delivering instruction through the distance mode presents a significant challenge to educators.

E-learning is to increase accessibility of

education and reducing costs and time as well as improving students performance.

The success of Distance Education learners depends on

the various support services available to them.


Communication between and among students can also be

facilitated by mobile phone technology.


Through e-learning ICT delivers sufficient knowledge-

intensive management skills to people in rural communities, which in turn, can help other people access the information and skills they need for better management.

E-learning is a flexible form of education that allows

participants with different schedules in different locations to interact and learn in a collaborative, online environment.
E-learning has been one of the technologies that has

simplified lives for many people both in rural and in developed communities.

Rural learners must incur the cost of travel and very

often the cost of living away from home to advance their educational prospects.

Education in general has been transformed by the use of ICT. Experts are now talking about the School of the Future (Taylor & Hogenbirk, 2001), which must grapple with the ever changing need of Filipinos increasingly inter-connected, globalized, informationbased society.

SYNTHESIS
E-learning allows us to learn at our own way , on our

own time with a flexible, interactive and engaging online experience.


Learning is beneficial to rural gentry for knowledge,

better job opportunities, and promotions and to learn new developing technologies in the market. Specially focusing towards rural areas it helps in developing peoples social and mental ability.

Some negative consequences are also observed in

flourishing E-Learning in rural areas.

REACTION/COMMENT
The students in the rural areas cannot have enough

learning resource because of the limitation of time, space and the unequal allocation of educational resources.
In the rural areas, E-learning is very useful. E-learning

will help the teachers and the students communicate easily inside and outside the classroom.

The use of E-learning on rural areas has become

increasingly important to develop the teaching strategies to enhance the students and also the teachers.
