Sheet 5 Magnetic Fields *All students must solve the following problems.

P R = 4 cm i=5A

1- Find the magnetic field at point (P) which is produced from the current (i = 5 A) in the wire shown in figure.

2- A conductor in the shape of a square of length (0.4 m) carries a current (10 A). Find the magnitude and direction of the magnetic field at its center.

3- Two long parallel conductors are shown in figure. The first conductor carries a current of (10 A) and the second carries current (i2) in the opposite direction. If the magnetic field is zero at the point (C), find the value of (i2) and the magnetic field at (A).

4- For the wire shown in figure, find the magnetic field at the point (P).

5- Two long wires carry currents (I1, I2 = 2.5 A) perpendicular to the plane of paper, as shown in figure. Find the value of (I1) so that the magnetic field at (P) is horizontal and find also the magnitude of that field. If a third long wire is placed at the point (P) and carries a current of (I3 = 4 A) in direction perpendicular to the paper (out of paper), find the force per unit length acting on this wire. . 6- Four long wires carry currents (i1 = 2 A and i2 = 4 A into the paper) while (i3 = 6 A and i4 = 8 A out of paper). Calculate the magnetic field at point (P) and the force per unit length acting on wire (1). Take the square side length (5 cm).
