Aphorism

The chassis NVR models should only be installed in the server room and maintained by the authorized server manager or IT administrator. The server room is locked by key or keycard access and only certified staff is allowed to enter the server room.

[2] Press the release button to release the drive tray latch. Pull out the disk tray.

Install a hard disk on each tray. Insert and lock the disk trays.

[1] Slide the disk tray into the slot until it comes in contact with the backplane connector. [2] Rotate the drive tray latch into the locked position and lock the tray lock.
Make sure you have installed at least one hard drive on the NVR.

Connect the network cable and power cord. Then plug in the power cord to the socket. Turn on the server. The server beeps once. Please wait for 2-3 minutes until the server beeps another time. The server has started up successfully.
Abnormal shutdown will lead to longer startup time for checking disk data in the next bootup. The checking process may take up to several minutes depending on the hard disk capacity.

Execute the product CD-ROM. Click Install QNAP Finder and follow the instructions to install QNAP Finder. QNAP Finder detects the VioStor NVR on the network and prompts you to perform quick setup. Click Yes to continue.
Note: If the server is not found, click Refresh to try again.

Login the NVR with the default administrator account (user name: admin, password: admin). The default NVR IP is 169.254.100.100.
Note: The NVR supports Internet Explorer 6.0 or above only.

Follow the instructions on the web page to configure the VioStor NVR. After the system has been initialized, click Start Monitoring to view the live video from the IP cameras or click Close to return to the system administration home page. To view the live video, you must install the ActiveX control. Follow the instructions to install it. When the live video and the recording icon are shown, you have successfully installed the NVR. Please refer to the user manual for details.
