The Simple present tense & The present continuous tense Dear XX,
I am writing to you from school today. As you know, Im beginning a new course in the English Language and I hope to pass the exam next summer. Most of (la maggior parte) the other students in my class come from Greece, and they are also starting this course for the first time, but there are some others who always fail the examination for one reason or another(per una ragione o unaltra), so I must* learn from them (devo* imparare da loro ) and* do my best (fare il mio meglio) once and for all (una volta per tutte), but as you can** imagine (ma come puoi** immaginare) I dont spend all my time studying English: there are so many things to see and theres much to do in London! After my daily lesson, I generally go for a walk in the city: this afternoon Im going to the National Portrait Gallery and Im having a look at the shops near Trafalgar Square. In the evening I usually go out with my classmates, and since we dont understand each others in our native languages, we have to speak English: I believe (that) Im learning more by hanging out with them than I do by studying hard during our time in class!
