This study examines the relationship between child nutrition and mortality in rural Philippines, and investigates whether socioeconomic status plays an important role. Data was collected through household surveys on child health and socioeconomic indicators for over 4,000 children under age 5. The results suggest that socioeconomic factors like household assets and parental education are strongly associated with child nutritional status and risk of mortality.
