REHABILITATION

Meaning

The term is used to describe processes &

treatments used to restore skills or functions


that were previously acquired, but have lost

due to injury, disease or some behavioral


patterns.

Definition
A planned program in which the disabled or an injured person progresses towards, or

maintain the maximum degree of physical & psychological independence of which he is capable.

Rehabilitation is the restoration of normal form and function after an injury. Recovery of injured or ill persons up to the best possible degree of physical, mental and professional fitness.

Aim and Objectives


1. Restoration of complete functional ability. 2. Prevention of deconditioning. 3. Reduction & prevention of physical disability.

Scope and Importance


1. To keep morphological and functional adaptation to physical exercise. 2. To regain physical fitness 3. To avoid atrophy of injured side by exercise with the non-injured side-aims of legs. 4. To avoid uncontrolled physical exercise of sportsmen on account of pleasure in physical exercise. 5. To guarantee a high level of physical fitness and make sports men ready for systematic training.
