Knit stitch Work in knit st. to finish off the rib stitch. GAUGE 10 x 10 cm. work in knit st. with knitting needles 41/2 = 18.5 sts. and 27 rows. WORKING INSTRUCTIONS Back: cast on 86 (80-92) sts. and, for the edge, work 4 rows in elastic rib and 16 rows in k2/p2 rib stitch, corresponding to a total of 7 cm. Cont. in knit st. decreasing 2 sts. in the first row. When work measures a total of 19 (17-21) cm. from the edge, to work the raglans dec. at ends 1 st. every 2 rows 23 (21-25) times. When work measures a total of 17 (16-18) cm. from beg. of raglans stand off the 38 (36-40) rem. sts. Front: work like back until work measures a total of 19 (17-21) cm. from the edge. To work the raglans dec. at ends 1 st. every 2 rows 21 (19-23) times. When work measures a total of 16 (15-17) cm. from beg. of raglans stand off the 42 (40-44) rem. sts. Right sleeve: cast on 50 (46-54) sts. and, for the edge, work 4 rows in elastic rib and 24 rows in k2/p2 rib stitch, corresponding to a total of 10 cm. Cont. in knit st. At ends incr. 1 st. every 10 rows twice. When work measures a total of 10 (9-11) cm. from the edge, to work the raglans work the decreases as follows: on right of work dec. 1 st. every 2 rows 17 (1519) times, 1 st. every 4 rows 4 times; on left of work dec. 1 st. every 2 rows 20 (18-22) times, 1 st. every 4 rows 3 times. At the same time, when work measures a total of 18 (17-19) cm. from beg. of raglans (end of the right raglan) stand off on right of work 5 sts. every 2 rows twice. Left sleeve: work to match the right sleeve. MAKE UP AND FINISH Sew the raglans on 3 sides leaving one back raglan open. Pick up 116 (112-120) sts. around the neckline (including the standing sts.) and, to shape the neck, work 6 rows in k2/p2 rib stitch and 4 rows in elastic rib, corresponding to a total of 3 cm.; bind off the sts. with the tapestry needle. Sew the last raglan and the sides of the collar. Work the side seams.
