August 13 1944 at about 10:00 am the Germans sent this remote controled demolition vehicle through the gap in a barricade on Podware Street. The Germans ceased fire and withdrew. An order was issued to stay clear of the vehicle. Later, about 17:00 another group of insurgents took contol of the vehicle an took it into the streets of Old Town. Some time later an attempt to get it past a barricade on Kiliskiego Street the 500 kg explosive charge went off, igniting the store of Molotov cocktails stored at 3 Kiliskiego Street. About 300 insurgents and civilians were killed in the blast.
