Permaculture is a practical way to apply ecological design principles to food,


housing, and energy systems; making growing fruits, vegetables and livestock easier and more sustainable. Peters presentation will introduce permaculture and discuss how our towns and suburbs can incubate the new Eco-Agriculture and launch a food security revolution. Copies of The Permaculture Handbook will be available for purchase at the presentation. Peter Bane is the author ofThe Permaculture Handbook: Garden Farming for Town and Country(2012) and the long time publisher and editor ofPermaculture Activist magazine. He is among the most experienced teachers of permaculture design in the world and is now pioneering a microfarm on the edge of Bloomington, Indiana.

This event is presented by: EARTH Center at Ohio State, Chadwick Arboretum and Learning Gardens, and the Ohio State Student Farmers Coalition.
