INTRODUCTION

Let's Do It! India is a project initiated and managed in India by Alexis Society, an International Not-forProfit & Non-Political Youth Organization. It is a civic movement of mapping and cleaning up the illegal waste lying around in apartments, wards, localities, and public places etc. The aim of the campaign is to organize a series of cleanups drives simultaneously in the different cities of India.

OBJECTIVE

Lets do it India! seeks to prove that individuals can make huge positive changes if they organise and unite in a constructive way. The citizens need to be aware of their responsibility and influence, not only for the sake of their present but also for the sake of future generations. It is more effective if many people clean on one day, than if a few people clean for years and years. The essential thing here is that we never forcefully impose ideas on to others; instead we believe in leading by example and simply inviting other entities to do the same.

MESSAGE

The cleanup drives seeks to serve a twofold message: Firstly, an appeal to the people to become responsible citizens by keeping their surrounding clean and cultivating the habit of disposing of the waste at right places. Secondly, through the drive a message to the municipality reminding it for performance of its duty with discipline and utmost sincerity.

OUR REACH

The project has already been given a kick start in various cities of India viz. Lucknow, Patna, Delhi, Thanjavur, Dhanbad, Pune and Udalguri & Sijouguri (Assam). We will be soon reaching more and more cities of India by 2013. The project seeks to increase awareness and educate the publichence improving their attitude to waste
