The problems begin in the small village called Yorido where little Chio lives with her family. Chio and her Sister Shatsu was trade as a Geisha in Gion by Mr. Tanaka.

The life of Chio in Okia, one of the geisha house in Gion became misfortune because of the cruelty of the senior geisha who lives there, Hatsumomo.

The climax of the story is in the meeting between Chio and the chairman. Chairman without noticing of Chio asks Senior geisha Mameha to change Chio to be a successful

geisha.

Sayuri and Mameha plan to end Hatsumomo cruelty by embarrassed her in front of her guess in the tea house.

The end of the story is the confession of chairman about his rule in making Sayuri as a successful Geisha.
