LA STORIA DI MISS MOPPET

This is a Pussy called Miss Moppet; she thinks she has heard a mouse! Questa una gattina che si chiama Miss Moppet; pensa di aver sentito un topo! This is the Mouse peeping out behind the cupboard and making fun of Miss Moppet. He is not afraid of a kitten. Questo il Topo que fa capolino dietro la credenza e prende in giro Miss Moppet. Non ha paura della gattina. This is Miss Moppet jumping just too late; she misses the Mouse and hits her own head. Questa Miss Moppet che salta troppo tardi; manca il Topo e batte la testa. She thinks it is a very hard cupboard! Pensa che sia una credenza molto dura!

The Mouse watches Miss Moppet from the top of the cupboard. Il Topo sorveglia Miss Moppet dalla cima della credenza.

Miss Moppet ties up her head in a duster and sits (before) in front of the fire. Miss Moppet si copre la testa con uno straccio per la polvere e si siede davanti al fuoco.

And then all of a sudden--Miss Moppet jumps (upon) on the Mouse! E poi all'improvvisoMiss Moppet salta sul Topo!

And because the Mouse has teased Miss Moppet--Miss Moppet thinks she will tease the Mouse, which is not at all nice of Miss Moppet. E siccome il Topo ha preso in giro Miss MoppetMiss Moppet pensa che prender in giro il Topo, il che non per niente bello da parte di Miss Moppet.

She ties him up in the duster and tosses it about like a ball. Lo lega dentro lo straccio e lo fa girare come una palla.

But she forgot about that hole in the duster; and when she untied it-there was no Mouse! Ma si era dimenticata del buco nello straccio; e quando lo slegnon c'era nessun Topo! He has wriggled out and run away; and he is dancing a jig on top of thecupboard! sgusciato fuori ed scappato via; e sta ballando una giga in cima alla credenza!
