Acorn Top:
Chain 3 and join to form a ring Round 1: Work 4 SC inside ring (4 SC) {You may find working 4 SC in round 2 to be difficult. Its best to loosen your tension here, and to make sure you keep your stitches right side out. It is easy to accidentally work the stitches inside out when working with a small quantity of stitches in a round. If you still find difficulty, use a yarn marker to mark your first stitch}
Round 2: Work 1 SC in each stitch (4 SC) Round 3: Work 2 SC in each stitch around (8 SC) Round 4: Work 2 SC in each stitch around (16 SC) Round 5: *Work 1 SC in the next stitch; work 2 SC in the next. Repeat from * around (24 SC) Round 6: Work 1 SC in each of the next three stitches; work 2 SC in the next. Repeat from * around (30 SC) Round 7: Work 1 SC decrease within the next two stitches; work 1 SC in the next. Repeat from * around (20 SC) Round 8: Work 1 SC decrease within the next two stitches; work 1 SC in each of the next three stitches. Repeat from * around (16 SC)
Acorn Bottom:
Chain 3 and join to form a ring Round 1: Work 5 SC inside ring (5 SC) Round 2: Work 2 SC in each stitch around (10 SC) Round 3: Work 1 SC in the next stitch; work 2 SC in the next. Repeat from * around (15 SC) Round 4: Work 1 SC in the next two stitches; work 2 SC in the next. Repeat from * around (20 SC) Round 5: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (20 SC) Round 6: Work 1 SC decrease within the next two stitches; work 1 SC in each of the next three stitches. Repeat from * around (16 SC) Round 7: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (16 SC) Round 8: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (16 SC) Round 9: Work 1 SC decrease in the next two stitches. Repeat from * around (8 SC) Round 10: You can choose to fasten off and sew the hole together or I prefer to work 1 SC decrease in the next two stitches, and 1 SC decrease in the following two stitches, then fasten off and sew hole together. The acorn top should fit snug to the acorn bottom
