Name the internal organs of the human body. Locate the internal organs of the human body. Understand the functions of internal organs. Name the tests to diagnose the disorder of internal organs.

Since we have studied external body organs in the previous chapter i.e. The Human Body, we will learn some internal organs in this chapter. 1. Lungs : Location: Situated in the rib cage Function: Functions of breathing in and breathing out are carried out by lungs.

2. Heart: Location: Situated in the rib cage between two lungs. Function: Heart supplies blood to entire body. 3. Brain: Location: Situated inside the skull in the head. Function: Brain controls all the actions of the human body.

4. Alimentary Canal: Location: In our body food passes through a pipe called Alimentary canal. It begins at the mouth and ends at the lower end of the large intestine. Function: Food is digested in the Alimentary canal. Parts of Alimentary Canal: Mouth Oesophagus Stomach Small Intestine Large Intestine

Any disorder in these internal organs, it can not be seen from outside the body. So, doctor will conduct some tests to diagnose the disorder. Some tests are: Blood test Saliva test Urine test Based on these tests doctor will diagnose the disorder and he will start the treatment accordingly.

If the disorder of the internal organ is complicated then latest machines are used to diagnose the disorder. Some latest machines used for diagnosis are: X-ray CT Scan Sonography
