1.Analyse the varoios allegations levelled against Mc Donalds before the French fries controversy.

Ans.Allegation against Mc Donalds: Nutrition- Mc Ds high-fat,low-fibre food can cause diseases such as cancer,heart problems,obesity,and diabities. Advertising-Mc Donalds annual ad spend of over 2 billion dollars was criticised for exerting a negative influence on children and exploiting them.

Animals-As the worlds largest user of meat ,Mc Ds slaughters hundreds of thousands of cows,chickens,lambs,and other animals per year.
Expansion-By opening restaurants in developing countries ,Mc Ds is creating a globalized system in which wealth is drained out of local economies into the hands of a very few rich elite.

2.What perceptual processes contributed to so much hostility and criticism despite Mc Donalds being the number one fast-food chain in the world?

Ans. The company with the Golden Arches served a simple menu hamburgers,French fries,and milkshakes or soft drinkes.

The food priced low ,its quality was consistent,and it was served speedly from establishments that all looked alike and were extremely clean.

Consumers have become more health concious .lets face it burgers, fries,and shakes are not exactly at the top of dietitians menu recommendations today.
Consumers became more concerned about physical environment.Mc Ds polystyrene hamburger packaging was attacked by people who demand the sue of recycled and or/biodegradable products.
