Stone Avenue Tucson Az 85701 Re: Public Confusion Amidst the Growing Rathbun Realty Scandal Dear Ms. LaWall: In my capacity both as public advocate and publisher, Ive been contacted by a growing number of concerned citizens regarding the scandal at Rathbun Realty and the apparent embezzlement of 1.8 million dollars. Moreover; The Arizona Department of Real Estate remains unresponsive to my several inquiries. Frankly; since no public agency has so declared, no one is really sure who has jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute; you, the U.S. Attorney John Leonardo, or the Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne. Would you be so kind as to respond to this inquiry, or make a public statement, regarding jurisdiction, and what steps you are taking, if any, to investigate Rathbun Realty? Ive talked to several property management companies who confirm my own conclusion that the regulatory practices of the Arizona Department of Real Estate are lax at best. If this proves to be the case, then Rathbuns clear abuse of Trust Accounts is only the tip of the iceberg: billions of dollars worth of Arizona rental properties may be at risk.
