ISAIAH 58-63 I. THE 7 FOLD PROMISE OF TRANSFROMATION IN JUSTICE ISAIAH 61:1-3 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me To heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God;, To console those who mourn To comfort all who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. Isaiah 61:1-3 A. In 61:1-3 we see the seven-fold operation of the King to bring about transformation to the earth in establish justice. This operation of the Spirit has been present since the 1st coming of Christ but will be brought to eschatological fullness when the King returns to the earth establishing His theocratic kingdom in Zion. To preach good tidings to the poor - Jesus as the King of the earth will saturate the earth with the message of the good news of the gospel. The Apostolic Gospel in a nutshell is the proclamation of the mystery of the kingdom of God. The message to the poor is the kingdom of God as Jesus and the Apostles proclaimed it. I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent. Luke 4:43 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 4:17 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3 Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Luke 6:20 C. Jesus will fill the earth with the opposite message that was proclaimed by the Anti-Christ to the poor blasphemies. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name (knowledge of God 2 Cor 10:3-5), His tabernacle (New Jerusalem Rev 21:3), and those who dwell in heaven (Cloud of witnesses Heb 12:1). Revelation 13:4 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Revelation 13:16-17 D. To heal the brokenhearted - Jesus will by the Spirit intimately attend and heal the hearts of His people from the affects of sin, demonic and social oppression. He will deal with sin, the effects of sin committed by us and to us. I believe that this happens primary by the Spirit, the life of Christ, taking residence in the hearts of those who say yes to Christ and His leadership.

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. Colossians 2:9-10 E. To proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound Jesus will have the authority to deliver those who are held captive and oppressed by spiritual forces and He will delivers those who were imprisoned by the Anti- Christ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38 In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in the day of salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You (Jesus) and give You as a covenant to the people (Israel), to restore the earth, to cause them to inherit the desolate heritages; that You (Jesus) may say to the prisoners, (Jewish and political prisoners of Anti Christ) Go forth,(anointed to liberate captives) to those who are in darkness, Show yourselves. Isaiah 49:8-9 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyones chains were loosed. Acts 16:26 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, Arise quickly! And his chains fell off his hands. Acts 12:1, 5-7 F. To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God In Luke 4:18 Jesus quotes this passage and stops with the proclamation of favor. I think of church history since the cross of Christ as the year of favor but we are vastly approaching the day of vengeance. It is interesting to note that it is the YEAR (2000 years of church history) of favor and the DAY (3 years of Great Tribulation) of vengeance. To console those who mourn To comfort all who mourn in Zion - mourning over sin and social trauma. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope for you is steadfast, because we know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of the consolation. 2 Corinthians 1:3-7

THE JOY OF THE BRIDEGROOM GOD IS YOUR STRENGTH ISAIAH 61:10-11 Then he said to them, Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength. So the Levites quieted all the people, saying, Be still, for the day is holy; do not be grieved. And all the people went their way to eat and drink, to send portions and rejoice greatly, because they understood the words that were declared to them. Nehemiah 8:10-11 A. The establishing of justice on the earth is a vision that fills the Son of God with great delight. Part of the justice that the Lord longs for is having the redeemed married to Him as His pure and spotless bride. Justice is not just the harmony of creation but it is also the harmony of creation with its creator.

In Isaiah 59:17, the coming Just one is clothed with garment of righteousness, salvation and vengeance as a King and a Judge but in Isaiah 61:10-11Jesus is wearing garments with similar attributes (salvation and righteousness) but as a Bridegroom King and is passionately in love with humanity. As Jesus looks at the unfolding of Justice on the earth it fills his soul with great joy. Connecting the heart with the oppressed will do the same. We must bring the vision before the Church and the poor of the earth. The revelation of the Bridegroom will be crucial to righteousness and justice springing up from the earth I (Jesus) will greatly rejoice in the LORD (the Father), My soul shall be joyful in my God (the Father); for He has clothed (anointed) me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the earth brings forth its bud, as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord GOD (justice is the work of the Lord) will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. Isaiah 61:10-11

THE HOLY ZEALOUS RESOLVE OF THE BRIDEGROOM (ISAIAH 62:1-3) A. Between the time of the cross and 2nd Coming and after His return Jesus the Bridegroom will be speak and be active and fight for the remnant of Israel to whom He betrothed Himself because the fullness of justice in the earth is contingent on Israel being in the embrace of God as a nation. Through the activity of the Spirit (divine communication, intercession (Heb 7:25, Isa 59:16) and divine activity power) the Bridegroom with great zeal will not stop until Jerusalem is the place of His government and becomes a burning and shining lamp. The Bridegroom is the primary one who gives Himself to intercession for justice before, during and after the 2nd Coming. On earth - BEFORE the Second Coming Rom. 8:26; Rev. 22:17; 5:8; 8:4; Lk. 18:7-8; Matt. 25:1-13; Isa. 62:6-7; 63:7-64:12; Joel 2:12-17, 32 On earth DURING the Second Coming events Zech. 12:10; Rev. 1:7; Joel 2:32; Jer. 3:21; 31:9, 12; 50:4-5; Isa. 24:14-16; 25:9; 26:8-9; 27:2-5; 30:18-19; Mic. 5:3-4; Zeph. 3:9, 14; Amos 9:11-12; Deut. 4:27-31; Hosea 3:5; 5:15- 6:1; Ps. 72:11-15 On earth - AFTER the Second Coming Isa. 56:6-8; 62:6-7; 66:8; 19:22; 24:14-16; 25:9; 26:8-9; 27:25; 13; 35:10; 42:10-13; 43:26; 51:11; 52:8; Zech. 8:20-22; 10:1, 6g; 12:10; 13:9d; 14:16-17; 6:15; Ezek. 36:37; Jer. 3:21; 31:9, 12; 33:11; 50:4-5; Deut. 4:27-31; Hosea 3:5; 5:15- 6:1; Ps. 149:6-9; 66:4; 102:12-22; Ps. 72:11-15; The brightness of glory in Jerusalem will serve as an example and a pattern for the rest of the earth to follow. God will put all of Israel on display as the Bridegroom marries the land for the sake of His name. Hephzibah and Beulah the Bridegroom will marry the land (Isaiah 62:4-5)

A THEOLOGY OF SUFFERING & JUSTICE, FALL 2012: SESSION 06 NOTES THE RELEASE OF JUSTICE IN THE EARTH, PART 2 STUART GREAVES
ISAIAH 58-63 V. DIVINE SETTING: THE HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER MOVEMENT (ISAIAH 62:6-7) A. the Anointed One prays, he now appoints those who will interceded ceaselessly until the work of salvation (justice) and righteousness is accomplished. Before the first coming of the Lord Jesus there were such (Lk. 2:36-38; cf. Mt 24:42; 25:13; Mk. 13:33-37; Lk. 21:36). Smart rightly notes that to interpret the reference to wall (6a) as implying that the passage must come from a time after the word of Nehemiah ignores the dramatic and imaginative character of the writing, which is not descriptive of a situation but impressionistic of watchful urgency. Watchmen is a keepers, guardian. Those who engage in prayer are the true guardians and true prayer is : (i) ceaseless (lit) all the day and all the night; (ii) vocal, verbalizing the need (never be silent) (iii) effective Godward (you who call on the Lord who put the LORD in remembrance). We do not conclude that otherwise he would forget, but that our prayers are, by his will in some way a vital ingredient in the implementing of his promises. Cf. how the promise of Malachi 4:5 came in answer o the prayers of Luke 1:13. Prayer is also; (iv) disciplined (give yourselves no rest); (v) urgent and pressing (give him no rest; cf Lk 18:1-8) and (vi) sustained (till he establishes, i.e. fulfils all that was foretold in chapter 60 regarding Zion, the whole work of salvation and righteousness in Is 61:10-62:1). Jerusalem is made the praise of the earth, something the whole world gives praise to the Lord for, because in saving Zion the world has been saved.1 The premier solution to bring about justice in the earth is partnering with the God through intercession. God saw that there was there was no intercessor and became the intercessor that He was looking for. In Isaiah 61:10-62:1 we find out that that the intercessor is a passionate bridegroom who new appoints His people to partner with him intercession for the release of justice (Isa 60) The concept of night and day ministry to the Lord is born of divine initiative out of the holy heart of God. The global prayer movement is the very activity of the Holy Spirit who is the One setting watchmen on the wall. At the end of the age the Lord is raising up a global prayer movement. One of the realities that marks the beginning of this prayer movement is that there is a rapid increase and desire for worship, intercession and intimate communion with the Trinity like never before. (Lk. 18:7-8; Mt. 21:13; Rev. 5:8; 8:3-5; 22:17, 20; Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:26; Rev. 22:17); Isa. 62:6-7; 24:14-16; 25:9; 26:8-9; 27:2-5, 13; 30:18-19; 42:10-13; 43:26; 51:11; 52:8; Joel 2:12-17, 32; Zech. 13:9d; Jn. 17:21-26; Jer. 31:7; Mic. 5:3-4; Zeph. 2:1-3; Deut. 4:27-31). and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem praise in the earth. Isaiah 62:7 E. The global prayer movement is going to culminate with what I believe to be the return of Jesus to this planet to establish Jerusalem as His global set of government during His 1000-year reign (Millennial Kingdom) on the earth. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And let him who hears say, Come! And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:17

The end-time prayer movement will result in the Church of Jesus in mature bridal identity and unity with the Spirit crying out for the return of Jesus. (Rev. 22:17; Hos. 2:16; Mt. 22:37; 25:8.) The end-time prayer movement is about the cultivation of faith (vibrant and dynamic agreement) that Jesus will be looking for during His return. Jesus is looking for a church full of faith (agreeing with the things on His heart) that will bring her to maturity in power, character and wisdom. (Eph. 4:13; 5:27; Matt. 16:18; 22:37; Jn. 17:21-26; Rev. 19:7; 12:11; 15:2. THE OATH OF THE LORD (ISAIAH 62:8-9) A. I believe that when the Lord makes an oath that is ultimately related to the oath of fullness: Then the Angel of the LORD (Jesus) called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said: By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice. Genesis 22:15-18 For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute. Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. Hebrews 6:13-18 B. C. No longer will there be robbery and plundering. The spirit of poverty will be removed. No more will one labor without being able to benefit and fully enjoy the fruit of ones labors. Isaiah 62:10-12 Friends of the Bridegroom in the forerunner ministry

ARMAGEDDON: THE JUDGE TREADS THE WINEPRESS TO ESTABLISH JUSTICE (IS 63:1-6) Then the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice. 16 He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor; therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; and His own righteousness, it sustained Him. Isaiah 59:15-16

I looked, but there was no one to help, and I wondered that there was no one to uphold; therefore My own arm brought salvation for Me; and My own fury, it sustained Me. Isaiah 63:1-6

ISAIAH 58-63 A.

The Armageddon is NOT the colliding of two world powers like communism and democracy or two world superpowers at war with each other bringing the earth to the brink of destruction. Armageddon is the kings of the earth seeking by military means to resist Jesus and His armies. The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful. Revelation 17:12-14

B.

Armageddon is about establishing Gods throne in heaven and on earth in Jerusalem. At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. (Jer. 3:17)

C.

Jesus will trample the nations of the earth and much blood will flow.
1

Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah, this One who is glorious in His apparel (Jesus), traveling in the greatness of His strength? "I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save." 2 Why is Your apparel red, and Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? 3 "I have trodden the winepressfor I have trodden them in My anger, and trampled them in My fury; their blood is sprinkled upon My garments (in context to the Battle of Jerusalem), and I have stained all My robes. 4 For the day of vengeance is in My heart, and the year of My redeemed has come6 I have trodden down the peoples in My anger, made them drunk in My fury, and brought down their strength (Is. 63:1-6) D. Armageddon is Jesus judging the nations by waging a supernatural military war against them.
11

Behold, a white horse. He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood14 The armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Rev 19:11-14 VIII. THE JUDGE: FATHER TO THE FATHERLESS AND DEFENDER OF WIDOWS Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19
19

A. B.

When the Just One returns one of the things He will be fighting for is on behalf of the orphan and widows. The Lords zeal is aroused of the issue of sexual abuse, abortion, human trafficking, child labor, child warriors, orphans, and mistreated and manipulated widows, etc. Jesus will wage war with the nations of concerning these issues. I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there 3 They have cast lots for My people, have given a boy as payment for a harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.
