PHYSICS II (Advanced Physics) Course Description: Physics II is a one year introductory course in physics offered 5 times a week to fourth year high school students of Manila Science High School. The emphasis of the course is to provide students with adequate problem solving skills needed to prepare them for College Physics. General Objectives: At the end of the course, the students are expected to achieve the following objectives: 1. Understand the basic laws of nature upon which all physical phenomena depend. 2. Describe, explain and implement the sequence of steps in the analysis of a physical phenomenon or problem: a. Describe the idealized model to be used in the analysis including simplifying assumptions where necessary.

b. State the principles or definitions that are applicable. c. Apply appropriate qualitative and quantitative/ mathematical methods to achieve a solution. 3. Read, understand, and interpret the physical information in verbal, graphical, and mathematical form. Textbook: College Physics, Second Edition by Giambattista et.al., MchGrawhill Publishing Inc.
