    The transmission will work fine when the car warms up, but will not work correctly when the unit cools down. There Are two types of O/D piston availible a Single Stage and a Two Stage. Installing a two stage piston into a single stage piston cover will cause this problem. The piston may go into the cover and it will be very difficult to remove on the bench. Refer to the pictures for the correct matches.

    Never use the 2 stage piston in the single O ring cover.

    The single stage piston fits only in the 2 O ring groove piston cover. The ID on this cover is 2.520 in

    The 2 stage piston fits only in the single O ring groove piston cover. The ID on this cover 2.560 in.
