SOCIAL CONTRACT CENTER SUMMER-FALL INTERNSHIPS

The Social Contract Center is currently seeking applications for internships starting 1st of August 2012 for a period of 3 months and with possibilities of extension. The SCC was established in 2007 as a joint project of the Government of Egypt and the United Nations Development Programme and with the financial support of the Italian Cooperation. The SCC provides evidence-based policy advice on equity and poverty reduction, monitors and evaluates integrated development initiatives, and facilitates a national dialogue with the aim of building a national consensus on the definition and the vision for a New Social Contract.

Learning expectations: The Interns will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and hands on experience on social policy research and its implementation. Enhancing communication skills by working with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers. Duties and Responsibilities: The interns will be expected to work on a range of issues, including conducting research, communication, and administration but mainly he/she will be assisting staff in data collection and in drafting research notes, as well as assist in the practical organization of events organized by SCC. Competencies: The candidates must have good written and spoken English and Arabic. Preference will be given to under-graduate students.
