AIM
The aim of this practical is to design and build a light dimmer circuit that is going to be powered
by 220V AC, 50Hz mains. The light source in the circuit should be able to operate at a power of
100W.

APPARATUS

Resistors (1/4W,5% carbon)

-1 x 2,2K
-1 x 10K
-1 x 180K
Capacitors
-1 x 150nF/400V (dipped polyester)
-1 x 47nF/630V (dipped polyester)
-1 x 0.22uF/250V (AC dipped polyester)
Potentiometer 250K
Triac 2N6075 or BT136-500D
Diac (HT-32)
Choke coil (100uH)
Terminal blocks
2A/3A fuse

DISCUSSION

CONCLUSION
The circuit worked perfectly and the ight could dim to zero brightness because as you increase the
resistance you limit the current in the circuit and the intensity of the light reduces but as you decrease
the resistance more current moves towards the light bulb and then the intensity increases.
