Academic Preparation:
Anchored upon our University's Vision, Mission, and Objectives, we at the College of Medicine, aspire to be: A professional school committed to excellence in community-oriented medical education, training, research and service.

ADMISSION POLICIES FOR FRESHMEN

The College of Medicine of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila accepts applicants for incoming first year medical students during the first semester of each school year. Lateral entrees from other medical schools will not be entertained. Previous applicants need not apply.

1. HeIShe must be a holder of Bachelor's Dear6 conferred upon by a duly recognized education institution.

2. HeIShe must have earned credits in the followir areas, and must have satisfied the require minimum numbers of units in the subjec specifically enumerated herein:
a. Sciences.................................... 35 units Chemistry..: ............................10 units as: Inorganic Chemistry ......... 5 units Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry5 units .................. units .15 Natural Sciences , 5 units should at kast be Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy or Human Anatomy and Physiology Physics .............................. 5 units Microbiology or Elem. Genetics ..5 units b. Mathematics ...................... 6 units Algebra ................................. 3 units : Elementary StatisticdBiostatistics. 3 units c. Language and Communication .......... 9 units d. Social Sciences ...............................9 units (Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, History, Anthropology) e. Humanities ................................... 3 units (Art Appreciation, Logic, Philosophy)

Criteria for Admission cf Freshmen

Must be a natural Filipino citizen. Must have complied with all academic preparations. General Weighted Average of 2.5 or its equivalent or better. Must have an NMAT of 45 and above. Must not have failed in more than one (1) subject in the Natural Science or Mathematics. Must not have failed in more than two (2) subjects other than the Natural Sciences or Mathematics. Must not have failed twice in any subject. Must have no record of having been dropped from any medical school. Must have no record of having been denied admission in the PLM-CM. Must have no record of conviction of a crime involving moral turpitude. Must pass the MCAT. Must have passed a panel of interview. Willing to sign a memorandum of agreement to serve in the community designated by the College.

OBJECTIVES

To strengthen local, national and international linkages that will contribute to quality medical education. 6. To provide appropriate and adequate infrastructure in support of the communityoriented medical educat~on and research. 7 To involve the alumni association in enhancing and sustaining community - oriented medical programs.

The Dean reserves the right to invalidate tt result of the MCAT if the applicants has n~ satisfactorily met the admission criteria and has nl complied with all the above requirements, in whit case the applicants shall be denied admission the College of Medicine.
