About this ebook

As men and women over 50 who face this issue, we thought it was time to tell the truth about erectile dysfunction (ED) and put the tall tales about ED to bed. We combined our personal knowledge about ED with a healthy and tasty alternative to pills and injections. In addition to offering an outline of the medical issues surrounding ED this book offers an eating plan alternative utilizing the specific foods, vitamins and minerals we eat to relieve the effects of ED.

We wrote this cookbook as a way to share our knowledge and offer a healthy lifestyle alternative to the millions of men suffering from ED.

    Introduction

Since the release of Viagra in 1998 it is almost impossible to watch TV for more than a few hours without seeing a commercial for erectile dysfunction. Certainly after the introduction of Levitra, Cialis, and now Stendra the public has been exposed to an onslaught of information about erectile dysfunction. Although largely a personal issue, talk of a man’s potency is now commonplace as rival erectile dysfunction products compete for advertising space and dollars.

Mainstream advertising of erectile dysfunction products has to some extent made it easier to talk about the issue. With over 30 million men in America suffering from erectile dysfunction there is no shortage of information and no shortage of proposed solutions. Overall vascular health is often the main source of the problem. In fact, vascular disease is the leading cause of erectile dysfunction. Other major causes include diabetes and treatment for prostate cancer.

We cannot begin to counter the amount of money spent by pharmaceutical companies advertising their little blue pills. Companies offering these solutions may even object to the research provided in this publication, and we are not taking issues with men who choose to take a pill as their solution. What this publication offers is an alternative that may either resolve the issue altogether, or add to the effect erectile dysfunction pills provide.

Living a healthy life and eating the right foods can reverse erectile dysfunction in many men. The publication will attempt to provide an eating plan specifically designed to offer foods, vitamins and minerals that will increase vascular health. Boosting your overall health through lifestyle changes may not only increase vascular health but may also reduce the chances of developing diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic syndrome. So, living a healthy life has two important results: better health and better sex.

The menu plan and recipes should be followed without substitution to insure that you incorporate the necessary food groups to increase overall vascular health. These recipes are simple to make and taste great. Hopefully, the combination of healthy eating and eating the right foods will increase your personal and sexual appetite.

The first part of this book outlines the erectile dysfunction issue; its causes and the options for treatment when neither lifestyle changes nor changes in diet are effective. The second half provides the shopping list, menus and recipes to put you on the track to a healthy lifestyle. We have included the benefits that each meal provides at the beginning of the recipe.

We have included the International Index of Erectile Function Questionnaire (IIEF) to provide readers with a self-gauge of how severe the issue is. The IIEF was developed in conjunction with the World Health Organization and available for use worldwide. After following the menu plan for four weeks we suggest that you re-evaluate yourself to see just how effective the changes in lifestyle and diet are. Although lifestyle and diet changes may take a bit longer to have their full effect you should begin to see changes in your overall confidence and satisfaction.

Of Important Note: erectile dysfunction can serve as a warning against high blood pressure or even heart disease as it sometimes appears before other symptoms do. Although lifestyle changes and healthy eating can solve
