In Memoriam
In Memory of Charlie who passed away October 2010
The remaining original member of the famed Animal Patrol passed over the Rainbow Bridge 18 days after his 19th birthday. Like his predecessor Puffer, his demise was kidney failure. Charlie was rambunctious (as rambunctious as a 19 year old could be) to his last day here on Earth. Charlie made it through is birthday – he ate his food and drank his water as usual and a week later he got his birthday treat. (wet food – which he gobbled down like there was no tomorrow) After that it was downhill. We made that last trip to the vet on October 18, 2010. We said our final good byes to the cat that made us laugh since January 4, 1992 when he was a wee kitten of 13 weeks. He made us laugh especially over the past six months when he would purposely tip over his water dish and make a nice puddle on the kitchen floor. Here’s to you Charlie – run and play with the butterflies and all your pals over the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my baby. One other unique thing Charlie (Meow-Face) liked to do was sit atop shoulders. Anyone’s shoulders and just be on top of the world.
In Memory of Chase who passed away in 2014
I didn’t know this kitty very well, only met him once. But to my recollection he was a cute and cuddly furball who will be missed by many.
In Memory of Duffy who passed away in 2014
Duffy, a kitty who was about 21 years old. The subject of Chapter Four: The Animal Patrol and the Stolen Cat. Duffy, go play with the others have fun and roam free!
In Memory of Zippette who passed away 2012
Aw sweet Zippy… The dog with zest and zip is now with the others on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. She was part poodle as well as a mix of other breeds but was one in a million and loved by all. She will be missed by many.
In Memory of Morris who passed away September 2008
Our dear sweet Morris passed over the Rainbow Bridge on September 18, 2008. Sometime in either August or September, he had reached his 18th birthday. Morris was in ill health and was suffering so the kind thing was done. A beautiful tabby with a heart of gold… We will miss him.
In Memory of Bailey who passed away in December 2006
A beautiful precious cat, taken too soon. Apparently little Bailey had a heart murmur and passed away suddenly in December 2006.
In Memory of Bart, who passed away in August 2005
Beautiful Bart, fluffy and full of energy, you always had something to say
whether it was when you meowed at the birds or at a human talking to you…you were a character.
In Memory of Sparky, Who Passed Away In August Of 2004
Sparky was a wonderful cat that lived up to his name Sparky
full of spark and life. At the end of his thirteen years, Sparky was diabetic and suffered terribly and as a final farewell to him out of love, he was put down in August much to the sadness of his owners. We will miss you.
In Memory of Timber, Who Passed Away In March Of 2003
Timber was a beautiful dog that warmed everyone’s heart. He was a loving pet and a great companion. We will all miss you. An Alaskan Malamute that warmed the hearts of everyone.
In Memory of Puffer who passed away in January 1992
The leader of the Animal Patrol, Puffer is sadly missed at this time as he passed away from kidney failure in January of 1992.
In Memory of Chester who passed away January 2011
I did not have the pleasure of meeting Chester, who was my cousin Bobby’s beloved 17 year old cat. Apparently Chester’s health was failing and it was time to Say good-bye to him. It was rough for all involved who knew and loved Chester to bid him good bye. But as with all the pets that we’ve loved and lost, in almost all the cases the animals were in bad health and it was in the best interest of the animal to say good bye.
Rusty, Dinah and Sugar-Baby: 2008, 2007 and 2010
I had always wondered about Victoria’s three kitties. It was only when she posted an ‘I still miss you’ about her cat Rusty that I asked her about Dinah and Sugar-Baby. She told me via Facebook that indeed Dinah and Sugar-Baby had both died as well. Sadly the whole gang
is gone now as she put. I hadn’t seen any of these cats since I baby sat Victoria and I hadn’t babysat her in over 10 years. I still have pictures of them – with her. Prior to getting these three, when I first began to babysit her she had Chelsea (a Himalayan – twin to Bart) and Sugar. (Who was an old
and beautiful white cat. Both of these have been gone a long time. Sugar about 18 or so and Chelsea at least 15 or so.
To Other family pets who have passed over the Rainbow Bridge:
In Memory of Sallie, Miss Mick, Mary Margaret, Caramel, Holly and Joey, who enlightened us with their years of loyalty. Holly was a beautiful Bernese Mountain dog who was full of life up until her passing in January of 2008. Joey was a beautiful Himalayan cat who, at the age of 14 was put down due to ill health. He is sadly missed by his owners and his sister and littermate Gina. He along with the other pets is sadly missed. Chico & BJ, (black and white border collie and silver and white tabby cat) also members of the A/P passed over the Rainbow Bridge in the early 1980’s. Kramer the Cockatiel also passed away and joined her ‘friends’ on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
