THE NOT SO MAD SCIENTIST

Bryson DeChambeau proved his doubters wrong when he overpowered Winged Foot’s brutish layout to claim his first major title at the US Open.

The charismatic American, who studied physics at Southern Methodist University in Texas, has been dubbed the “Mad Scientist” for his unique approach to the game, which sees him utilise single-length irons and a one-plane swing.
