Combat Acne and Dry Skin

Apple and Onion Soup

It isn’t just the doctor that will be kept away by eating an apple. Apples contain pectin, are a great source of bioflavonoids and contain vitamins for maintaining skin health. So, it would be true to say an apple a day can help keep acne away!

Portions: 4-6

Prep Time: 3mins

Total Time: 15mins


1 tbsp. canola oil

2 medium yellow onions (thinly sliced)

6 cups low-sodium vegetable broth (fat-free)

3 organic apples (diced)

1 small leek (chopped)

½ tbsp. fresh rosemary (chopped)

½ tbsp. fresh thyme


1.    Using a medium saucepan heat the canola oil in over medium heat. Add the yellow onion and sauté until golden brown.

2.    Add the vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Next, add the apples, leek and herbs. Reduce the heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes. Serve hot!
