About this ebook
Love Is Looking for You...Are You Ready? is filled with true and encouraging stories inspired by the Holy Spirit, to help a woman prepare herself to receive the right kind of love. Oftentimes, we ask the Lord to bless us or send us a husband, when most of the time we truly are not prepared to receive the man God has lovingly prepared for us. In other words, we need to get our house (our lives) in order so we can be ready to receive the love we have been asking, praying, declaring, and decreeing God to send into our lives. This book will cover some of the issues women might face while waiting for that special person to come into their lives. We will discuss issues such as healthy and unhealthy relationships, children, looking for men, and getting our houses in order.
To receive the love we desire, the first thing we should do is to make sure that we are prepared mentally, physically, and spiritually to receive this remarkable man BEFORE the Lord sends him to us.
Ladies, before we say “I DO” to the man we are going to marry, we need to make sure we have all our “I DON’TS” out of the way. For example, if we DON’T like cooking, DON’T like cleaning, DON’T like washing clothes, and DON’T like getting up early, then we shouldn’t ask God to bless us with a husband because all these things are extremely important in married life. So, I strongly suggest that we get all our “I DON’TS” out of the way.
As women of God, we should be about our business if we expect God to enlarge our territory. Okay? I know we spend a lot of time on getting our bodies tight, and hair and nails done, but let me tell you all that will not last. I’m not saying it is not necessary because we should take care of ourselves. However, if that is all you are using to attract a man, years down the line you are going to have problems. The Word says, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but, a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise” (Proverbs 31:30 NLT). All the Bare Minerals, Fashion Fair, and Maybelline will not help us keep a man. Oh, it may lure him in, but the Word says it will not last. We should start out with the correct foundation, and I am sure we know The Foundation I am talking about. If you want to know some of the things we should work on, start by reading in the book of Proverbs, and you will discover the beautiful characteristics of a woman who has captured the heart of the right man. In chapter 31, starting at verse 10, it talks about the characteristics of a virtuous woman. It reads she’s capable, trustworthy; she will enrich her husband’s life, and she will get up before dawn to prepare breakfast before her household.
One of the things we must work on is rising early. A virtuous woman rises early to prepare for her day and to get things ready for her family. Verse 17 goes on to say she is energetic, strong, and a hard worker. Okay, I hear someone asking, “What is the man doing?” I know some of you are saying, "That was then; this is now," and a lot has changed since that verse was written. I understand there are many women working outside the home because sometimes it takes two incomes to keep things going. Hold on ladies; do not count me out. I’ve been both a stay-at-home mom and a working mother; therefore, I feel your pain and we’re going to work together to get us there. However, we still need to understand if we want to be a virtuous woman, part of our responsibility is to rise early to get things prepared for our family. And ladies remember this: When the prophets wrote that verse, don’t you know Our Heavenly Father already knew our beginning and our end? Nothing ever catches Him by surprise. Just because things have changed in this world, it does not excuse us from doing what the Lord expects us to do. Neither does it excuse the men from treating women like the treasures God created us to be for them.

As you know, the year 2018 was a very trying year for me. I couldn’t have made it through without your prayers and patience while waiting on the Lord to work a miracle in my life to heal my body. It’s because of your love that I am able to keep my eyes on the vision that the Lord has imparted into me. I love you so very much and I am ever so grateful for everything you’re doing for me.

Foreword
When Shearon asked me to write the foreword for her book, Love Is Looking for You…Are You Ready? I can say what I found in the pages of this wonderful read was not what I expected. This is the book that I wish had written years ago, for if every lady, in every walk of life, were to put these common-sense methods to work daily, it could change their entire outlook on life.
So, in a word: WOW!
I can’t think of anyone better equipped to explain the importance of women being true to themselves than Shearon Hurst. Love Is Looking for You…Are You Ready? is packed full of both profound and simple truths. It's so simple and easy to understand that you will be wondering what took you so long to grasp the depth of the Father’s love.
Shearon and I have known each other for years, and as Sisters in Christ, we both share a deep longing for women to grow in the Lord. We believe that more women would walk in their calling if someone showed them how. I can truly say reading Love is Looking for You…Are You Ready? effectively provided me with an inside look at so many emotions that I found myself shaking my head saying, You know that’s right.
The insight you need, the knowhow you need to propel you upward and show you how to overcome the obstacles that have held you back for so long, can be found in the pages of this book.
Shearon, I wished you had written Love Is Looking for You…Are You Ready? years ago, but I am so glad you followed the Heart of the Father and without apology put in plain, everyday language the most practical and compelling approach to help women everywhere step out in their new day.
It is my greatest honor to recommend Love Is Looking for You…Are You Ready? I believe you will agree: Shearon has effectively put in our hands everything we need to live a godly life and receive the love of God we have been looking for all our lives, which have been ours always, even from the very beginning.

Introduction
Ladies,
Love Is Looking for You…Are You Ready? is filled with true and encouraging stories inspired by the Holy Spirit, to help a woman prepare herself to receive the right kind of love.
Ladies, before we say I DO
to the man we are going to marry, we need to make sure we have all our I DON’TS
out of the way. For example, if we don’t like cooking, don’t like cleaning, DON’T like washing clothes, and don’t like getting up early, then we shouldn’t ask God to bless us with a husband because all these things are extremely important in married life. So, I strongly suggest that we get all our I DON’TS
out of the way.
The Word
says, "Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but, a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise" (Proverbs 31:30 NLT).
Okay, I hear someone asking, What is the man doing?
I know some of you are saying, That was then; this is now,
and a lot has changed since that verse was written. Remember, a virtuous woman is a woman who is in this world, but not of this world. Are you with me?
Now, let’s talk about the journey you are preparing to travel. As you read and meditate on the chapters in this book, my prayer is that the stories such as, Getting Your House in Order,
Stop Looking and Be Found,
If You Want a Boaz, Start Acting Like Ruth,
God of a Second Chance,
and Dead Weight
will minister to your spirit and cause your spiritual eyes to open. I pray that it will expose any areas in your house that require some good housekeeping,
and that you will welcome the Lord into your home and let Him remove these areas out of your life. I pray you will ask Jesus to replace those areas with His love, forgiveness, peace, and joy so the hurt and pain of the past will never have a place to live in your life again. I also pray what you read will transform you into a woman of joy and delight, and prepare you to receive the right kind of love Jesus has waiting for you. If you wait on the Lord and allow Him to do a work in you, He will bring the right kind of love into your life who will work alongside you, and those early mornings you are so concerned about getting up to fix breakfast can look like this:
You reach over and hit the snooze button on the alarm clock. Oh please, just give me ten more minutes,
you say to yourself. You feel tired, already thinking about the day that lies ahead of you, and it is only 5:30 in the morning. Oh no, is that buzzer going off again? I guess I'd better get up. I didn’t realize I hit the snooze button twice already. It’s now 5:50 a.m. and time to prepare breakfast. Next, you hear a noise coming towards the bedroom, and your first thought is the kids are already up. However, you look up, and oh my, it’s your husband, and he is bringing you breakfast in bed. He tells you he has already fixed breakfast for the kids, and then he leans over and gives you a kiss on his way out the door to the office. However, before he leaves, he tells you, Baby, there are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all. I love you. Have a blessed day.
Ladies, that last sentence regarding being a virtuous and capable woman is from Proverbs 31:29. I suggest you take some time to read it.
Doesn’t he sound incredible? All right! So, what’s the next step? Where is the magnificent man? How do we find him? Looking for a man is one of the many things we will talk about as we prepare ourselves for the right kind of love. We have a long but delightful journey ahead of us, so prayerfully read through this book, and allow it to minister to you. As you read through these stories, there may be a moment when you need to pause and meditate
on what you’ve read. We are going to call these Selah Moments.
The Amplified Bible says Selah
means to pause and calmly think about that.
So, that is exactly what I’m asking you to do. Because at the end of each chapter is a Selah Moments
summary, and a place for you to record the things that caused you to say, Hmm,
Aha!
or That’s what I’m talking about!
Ladies, aren’t you tired of looking for love in all the wrong places? Aren’t you tired of always being the giver in the relationship? Don’t you want a love created and designed precisely for you? Oh, where is the love? Well, come on and get your hearts ready to receive the love God is preparing just for you.
CHAPTER I
Get Yourself Together
Ladies,
Most of the single Christian women I know have the desire to be married, and they are determined not to settle for living with a man to just have a man in their lives. However, one thing I’ve discovered is that some of them haven’t prepared themselves to receive the love they desire. They talk about the things they want in their future husband such as his looks, height, profession, how they want him to treat them, etc. However, none of them talk about what they are doing to make sure they are prepared to receive him. I’ve never heard any discussions regarding making sure their house is prepared to receive the right kind of love.
So, ladies, let me make a few suggestions: before we can even consider bringing that exceptional person in our lives, the first thing we need to do is some spring cleaning (emotional, physical, and spiritual). You may not know what you’re going to bring to the relationship, but one of the things you don’t want to bring with you is old baggage.
I don’t know about you, but it’s been a while since I’ve cleaned out my closets and removed excess baggage out of my life. We tell ourselves that one day we are going to dedicate some time to get things in order, but that time never seems to come (and you know how things can get behind closed doors). Well, if we are thinking about bringing someone into our lives, especially a husband, we need to open those closed doors and see if we have excess baggage lying around. Be it physical, emotional, or spiritual; if it's not blessing our lives, then we need to get rid of it.
If it’s your desire to be married, there’s no time like the present to start getting things in order. Don’t wait until you start dating or when the man proposes to get things in order. From the moment the thought enters your spirit, you should start preparing to be the wife to whom he will want to come home. If you want to be one with him, start getting your house in order now, so the baggage from the past won’t come between you. Ladies, let’s get our houses in order. As you read this book, it’s my prayer that the Lord will shine the light on every hidden area in your life that is out of order, so that you can have things decent and in order, before we receive this special love.
If You Want A Boaz, Start Acting Like Ruth
