INTRODUCTION
It is currently widely accepted that providing an adequate knowledge of a disease facilitates the person suffering from its recovery, especially in the case of psychological disorders. For this reason, health education is being considered good practice clinic and is becoming increasingly relevant in health services.

WHAT IS DEPRESSION?
What is depression ?
Lately, I feel sad, and I do not feel like doing anything. I start crying for anything, and everything feels terrible. I do not comment on my worries because I think that no one can understand what is happening to me, and that makes me feel very alone, even if surrounded by people. I consider myself a very cheerful person, but I have had many negative thoughts for a long time, about myself and my future.
I feel distracted; my memory fails me; I have many misconceptions. Do not I remember simple details like where I left the car keys or the list of the purchase. I have a hard time concentrating on work, and I have a feeling of permanent fatigue. In the morning I find it hard to get out of bed, the day It makes me very long, and I have difficulty relating to others, even with my wife

I have a terrible run; I see everything black and no way out. I have the spirit shallow and self-esteem through the floors. I do not know a solution to my situation. Since I retired, I stopped going out with friends and doing the things that they liked. It's as if my life has no meaning. I do not go to the country on Sundays anymore with the family, nor do I see football in the bar with friends. I have no plans for the future no projects that excite me. I've even thought that life no longer makes sense for me and that I would not mind dying.
What is depression?
The fact of feeling sad, depressed,
of having negative thoughts
or difficulty sleeping does not necessarily mean that you suffer depression. The moments of sadness, doubt, or questioning are part of life. Throughout life and about the events that are going on happening, people experience a wide range of feelings, from the saddest to the most optimistic.

• People who have experienced a stressful event.

What Are The Causes Of Depression?

I do not know how to do my job ").
However, these interpretations are often far away from the causes
of depression and are often an obstacle to the treatment and healing, delaying a consultation with the doctor. Depression, like most mental illnesses, is not caused by a single factor but is the result of a set of mechanisms of different nature that still they do not know each other completely.
In general, it is considered that biological factors
exist, psychological and environmental (those related to the social environment or the family). Some of them can act long before depression occurs; they Prepare the ground
and are known as risk factors (or vulnerability). For example, the fact of having a father or a mother who has suffered depression would increase the risk of being able to be affected by the disease. In the same way, having experienced traumatic events or conflicts serious in the family during early childhood is associated with an increased risk of depression in adulthood.

Studies show that depression and anxiety predominate in women. This type of disorders are significantly associated with social risk factors, more prevalent in women than in men, such as socioeconomic deficiencies (women traditionally more impoverished by pensions and lower salaries, dedication to unpaid work), the continuous responsibility of caring for third persons or gender violence.
• Others:
- Sometimes a physical illness (cancer, diabetes, diseases cardiac, Parkinson's, eating disorders, thrombosis, Alzheimer...) or taking certain medications make it appear.
- The consumption of alcohol and drugs also favor their appearance.
- Some people have symptoms of depression, recurrent at the same times every year, especially in areas with a significant difference in light between summer and winter.
What are the symptoms of depression?
› Conduct:
Crying attacks, isolation from others, neglect of responsibilities, loss of interest in appearance, loss of the motivation.
› Emotions:
Sadness, anxiety, guilt, anger, mood swings, lack of emotions (affective dullness), feelings of despair
› Thoughts:
Self-criticism, guilt, worry, pessimism, memory problems, lack of concentration, difficulty in decision making, confusion, ideas about what other people see you badly.
› Physical symptoms:
Feeling tired, lack of energy, sleeping a lot or very little, overeating or loss of appetite, constipation, loss or weight gain, irregular menstrual cycle, loss of appetite sexual, pain without obvious explanation.
How do I know if I am depressed?
Often the person does not realize how depressed they are, because Depression has developed gradually. Maybe he tries to keep fighting and cope with feelings of depression by keeping busy, but this It can cause even more stress and exhaustion. Identify The Precursor Signs Of Depression

The most common signs are usually:

- Problems with sleep (waking up in the first hours of the tomorrow, not restful sleep...);
- constant anxiety with times when it becomes acute, even in situations so far considered routine and without risk (go from purchases, for example);
- unusual irritability that requires a lot of energy to control it;
- excessive tiredness or slowness of movements;
- an inability to function, to carry out daily tasks;
- greater sensitivity to noise;
- unusual changes in appetite (decrease or increase).
Recognizing your signs is particularly useful in the case of recurring episodes. Keeping a diary indicating your mood during the day can be a good idea, helpful for you and your doctor.
Is depression just a form of weakness?
Many people do not ask for help from their doctor / or because there is a widespread belief that depression is a sign of weakness of character or that the person has given up
as if he could choose the problem. None of this is true. It is a disease that can affect the most determined people; even the strongest personalities can suffer it. The will is not enough to get out, mainly because the disease produces a feeling of low self-esteem and negative thoughts. It is a common and treatable disease; it requires help, not critical.
